Just a few steps make all the difference when mulching a tree. A two-cubic foot bag will mulch 12 square feet two inches thick or 8 square feet 3 inches thick.

From a horticulturist... Thanks for showing people the correct way to mulch. 👍 I would recommend going ahead and pruning that co-dominant leader that is forming at the top. I would remove the branch that is slightly lower since the other has a more upright habit.

🤣 in my area unscrupulous landscapers build mulch volcanoes to throw as much material as possible in order to make the big $. Then homeowners see these volcanoes and are convinced that’s the correct method because the “professionals” are doing it

Is this a fruit tree? One thing that surprises me in America is that so many people have non food producing trees. In Caribbean and Latin America everyone has fruit trees. No work and free food.
