Balatro gave me chills, imagine developing a silly solo indie game and a year later you see this on the biggest gaming stage of the year

Dude got award after award after award, got the theme of his game covered by the TGA orchestra (including flute guy playing like five instruments), stood up against some of gaming's biggest legends, nearly won GAME OF THE YEAR competing with FFVII, Sony's Mario 64 and Elden god damn Ring, and all because of a shockingly deep pixel card game they solo-developed

for those who dont know: "Flute Guy" is Pedro Eustache. he's incredibly talented and has worked on films like Pirates of the Caribbean as well as Dune 1 & 2! WE LOVE FLUTE GUYYY!!!!

By the way for anyone wondering, during black myth wukong, the instrument that flute guy plays is called a suona. It is a double reeded (like an oboe) high pitched Chinese horned instrument.

Flute guy is Pedro Eustache, he is good friend with Hans Zimmer and helped him create unique instruments for Dune OST (because hans wanted instruments that didn't exist due to otherworldly planets in the story) which Hans won oscar for, he is basically wind instruments god. They are really good friends and make amazing music together. He also plays live for Hans Zimmer live and The World of Hans Zimmer

The flute at 2:07 is called Suona, a traditional Chinese instrument which is extremely loud and commonly used in major lifetime ceremonies like wedding and funeral etc
