Chin really made the difference. Everything else could be attributed as an art style.

That’s why it’s important to flip your canvas every now and then. You tend to catch these proportional mistakes when you change perspectives.

I personally like clipping eyebrows. As a cartoonist, it makes life easier.

love how she doesn't FULLY change the original artstyle of the artists and just adjusted the anatomy

Yea, the chin made a difference, but the eyebrows showing is stylistic. It doesn’t have to change.

I agree with the proportion adjustments except for the eyebrows part. It doesn't have to be realistic, that wasn't the aim in the first place. We see that often in Japanese characters and could be part of a visual language.

Jsyk eyebrows over the hair represents the translucency of hair. Also it makes it easier to show expressions if you're a comic artist

This reminded me of art school where some times you’d get actual useful advice and other times instructors would be like “well you didn’t do it the way I personally would so you’re getting a lower score”

Personally I put the eyebrows over the hair as a stylistic choice because I am a comic creator and I feel that it helps emphasize and make emotions more clear when someone is viewing an image quickly

I will forever love the eyebrows over the hair. Yes its not realistic, but I still think it looks good and even professional.

As a comic artist, the eyebrows over the hair is essential especially when I draw a character with long bangs. The eyebrows needs to be there for readers to visualize their expression.

Eyebrows also helped with conveying an emotional scene.

Really curious about the nose bridge detail, because a shallow bridge can be an ethnic feature seen in people of East Asian or African descent for example. So I wonder what the original artist had intended, or whether they'd picked up a shallow nose bridge stylistically from anime.

this channel keeps popping up for me and all the “realistic” touches are taking away features (some that you generally see on POC) that real people have. this one looked perfectly good and human. and not samey.

I liked the forward posturing of the chin, it gave the artwork a ton of character and personal touch. Following rules in art is for the dead soul.

Personally as a cartoonist I enjoy clipping eyes and eyebrows over hair (depending on the hairstyle and intention of the characters look) it makes it so much easier to show emotion and I really like drawing eyebrows

Laughed at the nose bridge, as someone whose nose bridge is far too shallow to have that kind of shadow. Asian heritage ig LOL

The chin/jaw structure and nose curvature were fine, and existent forms of variation in facial features. This is why I think it’s valuable, for any artists interested in drawing human faces, to learn from all sorts of references in the real world. If you look too much at eye candy art trends/specific beauty standards you will fall into an echo chamber

i do think some peoples noses do just look like that, not everyone has that prominent a curve in the bridge of their nose, the chin tucking in was maybe ok just to make sure her skull can connect to her spine right and her neck isn’t broken but ppl can def have prominent chins so idk
