I have been thinking about replacing the American Express Platinum card for some time now. At first I thought I would apply for the American Express Delta Reserve credit card; however, I missed out on the limited design and the elevated welcome offer. So I looked at other credit card options; such as, the Chase Sapphire Reserve and the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve. However, I didn't think the Chase Sapphire Reserve fit with my lifestyle and there was a really high chance I would be denied for the US Bank Altitude Reserve. So I decided to go for the Capital One Venture X card instead; especially with Capital One building out their lounge network. So in this video, I'll walk you through my process of applying for the Capital One Venture X; as well as my thoughts.

FYI Chase sapphire lounge is exclusive to the Chase card as priority passes are limited to one per year (either cardholder year or calander year)

A few months ago I checked the pre approval tool for the venture x and it said I was approved. Check it again last week and it did not show up as one of the cards I was pre approved for but I applied anyway and got approved!

If you get instant approval, the card will be FedEx'ed next day. Otherwise, it will be mailed USPS 5-7 days.

My metrics for this card were somewhere around the 650 credit score, 5-6 inquires and coming up on 2 years of credit history.

I tried the pre approval tool and it denies me also even though I only have 3 cards and a 750 FICO

Just a quick note, the Chase Lounges you can access with a Priority Card once per year ( no guest). The once per year is not by location, its just one visit at all.

At 6:10 where it takes time to do all that, it's pretty much BS

It takes the computer less than a second to process everything, but the human mind refuses to believe it can thoroughly check everything that quickly
