Capital One Venture X: The ULTIMATE TRAVEL CARD?

The Capital One Venture X credit card review for 2024 is here. Capital One Venture X had some slight changes to it's perks, but it might still be the best travel card on the market. The Venture X perks are great for travelers, and the yearly annual fee is very reasonable.

The quality here is amazing man! Maybe I missed it on your channel page, but do you have other experience here on YouTube because it definitely looks like you do! Awesome review of the Venture X too - definitely a great card that my fiancé has in our credit card setup

I hear Venture X is taking away lounge access for Capital One Lounges and Plaza Premiums starting Jan 1st 2025. What about Priority Pass lounges? I'm a little confused - is there lounge access at all for Venture X cardholders starting 2025?

Just got approved tonight! I got greedy and applied for the Boundless card right after and I’m stuck in review. I have never done business with Chase before so I’m guessing that’s normal?

Won't you recoup most of the $395 annual fee by traveling just once a year if the ticket price is more than $300 (which it will well be) which is the annual credit amount?

Nice work! I have a score of 760+ and 10 revolving accounts, out of which 1 is a Macy's Amex card, 1 Amazon Chase card, 1 Dell's card. On February 2024 it'll be 1 year since I applied for a new card. When I checked if I am pre-approved a few days back, I got denied saying that I have too many revolving account. Any suggestions on how I can overcome this, since this year I am planing to travel a lot so really want this card.

Please do not encourage large groups of people to try to use the lounge, they will be waiting a very long time.

If your home airport has capital one lounge, run for this card. If your home airport is Atlanta, AVOID this!!!

They never have my flights

I always use first class
I found out paying cash works better and I can still go in lounges etc .

Most credit cards just don’t meet my needs

I’d say a more accurate cost of lounge access is like 10 dollars because good luck finding a lounge that isn’t packed and not letting people in while you’re in the US. I’ve been to a few outside the US and it’s hit or miss. I got a couple sodas and a sandwich. So if I do that twice, maybe MAYBE it’s worth like 15 dollars. But 120 is insane. Not every single person goes to the airport ready to have a full meal. Most people im sure are coming either fed or getting a snack while they wait. I think this heavily skews the value you’re getting at the end.

I have to say, I have seen a ton of these videos on venture x, I like yours alot. It's not quick, good pace, alot of visuals. Easy to remember all the perks because it's etched in my memory now. Thanks for your breakdown

I love my Venture X card, but lounges are few and far between. Priority Pass seems to be closing more lounges than they are opening, and there are no lounges at LAX.

The Venture X is pretty much a no brainer if you can take advantage of those credits. My wife and I love it! Great review.

By the way I loved your style and love how you kept this video interesting. Looking forward to watching your channel grow!

Some additional noteworthy things:

1. The travel portal has always been more expensive for me when looking at flights but hotels seems to be competitively priced

2. Global entry includes tsa precheck

3. There’s no restaurant perks for the priority pass when you have it through the Venture X, unlike Chase sapphire reserve that supplies a $28 credit to certain airport restaurants on each travel day.

4. This is more specific but with the update to the $300 credit you can no longer easily get reimbursed for purchases made using your credit because it’s applied before checkout. This is a pain point for me as I fly at least twice a year and get reimbursed from my job for the cost.

Great review thank you. Could you do Amex and Reserve next, trying to way my options. I travel out of Denver, Colorado Springs and Minneapolis once a month. Been enjoying and loving my Amex platinum. Just researching if it's a keep for the long haul.

I’ve heard that if you don’t book direct with airline that you loose a lot of flexibility, especially if there’s problems with the flight. Is this true with travels card such as the VX or Amex Platinum?
