I WAS SWITCHING JOBS every 3 years. Each time go at least a 20% increase in pay and better benefits. Except with my recent position I've been with for over 8 years. Chefs on staff that make us breakfast and lunch with a Barista Bar. All education paid for. 4 weeks vacation a year. 7%-15% raise every year. 15-20% Paid bonus every year. Plus company stock. I'm sticking around.

Also companies: Doesn't provide training for new hires and starts harrassing them about numbers/performance on day 1.

B. As a long time follower, each one of your points is dead on. I recently had some interviews in my field, and sir you are so insightful when you discussed the perks to be "aware" of. Man, you are good. You make total sense in this video particularly with regards to salary bands and the length of stay in a job and have a strategic exit strategy. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for this topic. As someone who has worked in financial services where turnover is high. Job hopping is actually much better than getting a promotion. I noticed officers who were hired new for the job had less responsibility and a different learning curve than someone who was promoted to an officer from an associate position within the same department. The person who got promoted is much more valuable in my opinion because they are adept to the work environment in comparison to the officer who was hired externally and needs help to catch up and learn the nuances of the company but I don’t think the pay difference is substantial and I wouldn’t be surprised if external hires get paid more than internal employees who were promoted for the same role!

Mr. Life After Layoff: Found your channel a year ago, worked at a failed startup to now working at the top 5-7 tech companies in the world. Salary doubled, was thought to be a broke failure as a man but now I'm around below average for my age range but am on track to job hop after a year to make 20%-30% raise.

I wish I saw this video when I got my first corporate job, where stayed for 1.5 years ($60k salary). I stuck around my next role way too long (73k to 96k in 4.5 years) in exchange for exposure to in-demand skills/hope that research would "grow on me" (in fairness it is very reputable and I learned a lot, it just pays a lot less for same years of experience).

I'm happy to say I just job hopped again, going to be making 120k (base) at an even more reputable & well known company. I watched a lot of your videos over the last 5 months of applying and interviewing, thanks for all the help!

Good timing!!! I'm at the 25% of the pay range for my job title and worse its not the correct job title for my experience and skills in the industry. What stings further companies like mine have job levels P1 through P5 and they still keep me at P1 to underpay me and six years with the company...I found many jobs with my skills and experience that puts me over 100k mark at least I'm in the process of applying for these jobs.

Hi Friends! Job Hopper here. I usually remove jobs from my resume if stayed shorter than 6 months or if the company was not what I was expected. But you always keep looking for jobs even when you are on the job.

I’ve changed jobs every 1.5 years through my career. I feel like the variety of experience has been valuable, so often there is a “new” situation that pops up that was routine at one of my previous workplaces.

This is a very interesting POV, and I can testify that I personally got a job at $55, 000 ten years ago, stayed for 3 months and interviewed like crazy, and got a $72, 000 3 months later. After that, I got $91, 000 a year later. I’m an immigrant so I’m minority.

I worked for a company for 5 years and when I got a new job my salary went from 79k to 112k ! 9 months in I got laid off. When I got a new job my salary went up to 126k !! I couldn’t believe it.

I did this last year, got a new job with a 50% raise, about half the workload and half the commute. It took me about 4-6 months to find tho. I was very fortunate to land that job

I just accepted my 7th job in 7 years. Started at 35k and just accepted 140k. Companies don’t even ask me about the hopping anymore because they are so desperate for candidates. I am in the accounting industry which is usually in high demand
