I spoke to a pilot here in Serbia, he still flies An-2 as a crop duster. He told me that he could teach me to fly this plane in 6 hours.

I was fortunate to actually fly it from the right seat during our university flight practice. It wasn’t a full flight training (because we were engineering students, not a pilot trainees), we weren’t allowed to touch throttle and other engine stuff and had no control on takeoff and landing, but even that it was a great experience. It handles just like a large and very stable FPV plane. Huge wing area, simple but effective automatic leading edge slats and 1000 HP radial make this “flying 1.5 ton truck” very manoeuvrable, sometimes we even got close to 4g loading. Yes, vibrating radial engine, low wing loading and low altitude on the hot summer day make it a true “vomit comet”, so I bought some pills even prior to that practice and used them on every flight. During stall demonstration we had less than 50 km/h (27 knots) airspeed, but it had no tip stall, it just entered the “parachute mode” and slowly lowered its nose and gained more speed. Such a great plane.

I think it might be following the same design philosophy as some of the soviet trucks: to be dummy-proof. Give it to people who still live in 1880 and they can operate it relatively safely after some learning.

Ngl i thought Antonov made cargo planes for material purposes to bring to different country but now this video that Swiss 001 made then i can prove that antonov didnt make just large planes.

It's a legendary plane. If you live in Eastern Europe contryside you'd probably see this plane spraying pesticides and other stuff above the fields. And there are a lot of funny stories about this plane capabilities. I've heard that one guy dropped his house keys down to his wife while flying on extremely low altitude and almost stalling it.
In our town you don't even need to have a pilot's license to fly this thing. I mean if you're a pilot's son or friend. If you want to fly it's a couple of weeks training and off you go. Nobody cares.
