Grim Footage Shows Wreckage of World's Largest Plane

Video footage proves the world’s largest cargo plane has been destroyed. At the end of February, reports surfaced that the Antonov 225 Mriya cargo plane was destroyed in a Russian assault on an airfield near Kyiv, Ukraine. Grim video shows the legendary plane’s wreckage. The Antonov-225 Mriya was designed to carry spacecraft for the former USSR. Cleaning the area is a dangerous task. There are unexploded bullets, grenades and mines.

As an aviation enthusiast this is a terrible loss as I never even had the chance to see this flying beauty yet i must say this is nowhere near as devastating as the loss of life in Ukraine. Really sad to see it get destroyed.

I've been in the Airline industry since January 2008. Seeing this destroyed is heartbreaking on so many levels. Continued prayers for the Ukraine people in this ongoing hard time. 🙏

it once landed on the philipines and ive seen this before my eyes, such huge aircraft, they needed to use 2 bay because of its long large wings, i can't explain the feelings that iv'e felt during that time it was so awesome, but now that i heard from news that it had been destroyed, it's sad to know

This is just sad. This aircraft made history carrying the expensive cargo throughout the years. This war has caused so much suffering and casualties and Putin doesn't care all he wants is his old Soviet Union back. I hope Ukraine will stand up and will be there with them as they defend against Russia with the world right behind Ukraine.

I actually had the privilege of witnessing it being used here in Portland Oregon once.
I work in the aircraft industry painting airplanes.
It brought an actual stealth bomber fuselage in it.
The most amazing thing I ever got to witness.
I can't believe it's gone.
