Hey what's up buddy! Great topic and since you left it open for discussion I'll chime in. I started with a Vivosun, the cheap Yellow one on Amazon. Worked great for many months with periodic calibration checks. Until it dropped in the water.
Replaced with another very similar Amazon pen except its Grey n Blue and not backlit🙁. It works fine and holds calibration pretty close. I check it monthly or if it seems off. Tap water ph is typically low 7s- low 8s.
I first used GH up & down until the bottles ran out. Then mixed my own solutions using Baking Soda & Citric Acid. Refilled my empty bottles! Perfect, cheap & on hand! Hope this helps somebody! ✌🏻

squeeze and strain natural lemon juice for PH down, never have to use PH up because you carefully measure with a syringe the amount to lower the PH by one point. Then for future adjusting the same amount of water, you already know precisely how much lemon juice to add. My tap water comes in at 6.8 and takes 10 ml of LJ to lower it to 6.3 in my 5 gallon water storage bucket.

You should makeca small squeeze bottle of ph down solution. A prediluted solution eliminates the oversteering of ph caused by using concentrated products.

My first grow I was overwhelmed by all the information I needed to know and the steps involved in maintaining a healthy soil. Having to Ph the water seemed difficult and time consuming and I really didn’t want to add another step to my watering routine. My first time adjusting the Ph was up down up down and driving me nuts but I learned that a little bit goes a long way and now I hardly think about it I just Ph, it takes less than five minutes and I’m done . I use general hydroponics Ph Up/down and Apera Ph60 to check my Ph.

I do 6.8 in a roots organic soil, my water is bad usually 7.8 out of tap. Is that still to high? And I usually run different plants all same ph water

So I was doing some research on water ph levels. Nestle purelife has a ph of 6.5 and arrowhead drinking water a ph of 6.3. For someone who doesn't want to mess with a ph tester and ph up and down; could one use water that has a base ph that is need for the plant. I realize calmag and other nutrients will affect this, however is it possible and what do you think the benefits vs the cons would be? Thank you in advance to any reply.

Yea, you suckered me into buying one. So far, so good. I just got so tired of the cheap $10 ones; I had five in all and I had to recalibrate every time I used them. I am so happy with my new $45 one. Thanks for the referral.

Hey man I have to say your video's are badass easy to understand. Thank you I appreciate your help and support in learning I didn't realize I need a pH meter I started growing in the basement and it flooded my first grow. Upgraded to a upstairs bedroom in a four by four tent now it's all been a learning experience harvested three and a half ounces off my first grow

I use PH strips that are for testing your urine. Is that OK? Fourth grow and had pretty good results. Except last time. Too humid and suffered bud-rot.

just bought a hm digital ph 80 and when you mentioned it i got a lil bent lol i bought 2 yellow milwalkee testers before and the went to hell in a week each. i was at the store buying happy frog and ocean forest and organic pro mix and asked is they had anything other than the milwalkees and thats what they gave me. lesson learned. store is on the rez and since covid they wont let anyone inside have to do bisuness through a window and still with a mask even though its been lifted elsewhere in the state.

I use the exact same ph meter and so far it has been great. I also use Nectar Olympus up it is a very rare thing for me to have to worry about dropping my ph because I use Nectar products that naturally drop the ph to the mid 5's and then I just use the Olympus up to bring it back to 6.4 to 6.7 I'm in soil. I start noticing issues with my plants when my ph goes below 6.2 or above 6.9.

I always be sure to keep my ph pen stored in storage solution to keep it from drying out . Great video

Does the pH of the water not change when it gets filtered through the soil? Do you account for this or does it just work out if you are using healthy alive compost base soil?

I am using city water and using an airstream to oxygenate the water. Do air stones raise the ph. I am getting readings of 7.4 after the bubbles run through for about 48 hours. Then I ph that water down for regular watering. Or add notes then ph and feed. My question is about the air stone raising ph?

Ive been using bottled water but changing to tap to save $. Is it true that if ya leave the water sit opened, the minerals will flash off? My tap is 7.1 w/150ppm. Just worried about chemicals in it
