Space Engineers is a voxel-based sandbox game set in space and on planets, developed and published by Czech independent developer Keen Software House. In 2013, the initial developmental release of the game joined the Steam early access program. During the following years of active development, Space Engineers sold over one million units. In total as of 2019 the game has sold over 3.5 million copies In May 2015, for approximately a year and a half, the game's source code was officially available and maintained by KSH to assist the modding community. On December 15, 2016, the game entered Beta and was later officially released on February 28, 2019.
The game is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planets. Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and uses, pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive.

Im so glad that SE2 is more of a planet coaster 2 than a cities skylines 2 kind of sequel. Im hanging on until survival mode before actually playing properly. But god, is it nice not having whole blocks worth of space taken up by light fittings or railings.

One thing I'm hoping gets fixed if it hasn't already is symmetry mode turning itself off. It's honestly infuriating building on one side of your ship for 30 minutes and then realizing symmetry is turned off.

I purchased the sequel to support the developers, excited to see how it matures. Until then I'm gonna start a playthrough on the first one for the content amount. Excited to see SE2 future

Space engineers 2 looks pretty good so far, but I'm not going to get it until they add in survival at least.

To me there isn't much of point in building something unless it serves a purpose.

The BEST SE2 1.1 video on the net! Great job. Other famous Youtubers complained the update was too little too late and seemed to miss many of the changes. One thing we are missing is the ability to join any two blocks together, no matter what their shape. It seems this was shown off in a teaser but only works with the small decorative blocks. Each larger block has mount points as in SE1. I think the community would love a few new blocks in each release even if they're more types of armor blocks or conveyor blocks without functionality... Hmmm... speaking of conveyor blocks... Do you have any inside information that others are hinting about where the conveyors may not be in SE2 or may work more like teleporters? If they keep it the same as SE1, think about plumbing a large ship or station. We'd be able to use small conveyors\piping for gasses and water and larger conveyors for materials. It's going to be a game changer.

If they release the mod update sooner rather than later then the community can create new functional blocks before Keen releases their own versions sometime in 2099.

IMO - the workshop release is more for Keen (Marketing) and less for the community. Some of the builds are really amazing to see. Another youtuber complained that anything shared becomes public domain and thinks it's going to cause chaos, but again some of the other youtubers just complained about SE2. We are really glad your videos are so positive!

I was never good at building, but with 2 I have gotten better and im almost comfortable with my skill to upload a ship

Auto sync blueprints? That will be amazing for any larger builds. There is always something that needs a tweak, but usually wasnt worth a full new upload

Under-the-hood improvements are not flashy to the layman, but boy do they make a world of difference.
There's no point in making a beautiful looking game if it has no features, after all.
Just look at Avowed vs Oblivion (19-year-old game) or Skyrim (14-year-old game), for a perfect example of all flash, no dash.
Keen is my favorite studio in this era of gaming. They do it right. Their quality control is something they should be very proud about.
Better to do things slow and right, than fast and wrong.

The backup saves feature is a godsend, I had a corrupted world I was able to save by loading an earlier save
