I’m a 4HC. I’ve taken lots of in person lessons, including with colleagues of Mike’s, but this little video has had a bigger positive impact in my swing then any lesson I’ve ever taken.

80 years old with a bad back and one artificial hip. Short game was OK, but driver and longer clubs were awful to the point where I would stop playing for months at a time. It was not fun and body movement was causing pain. It's taken a little while, but Im finally getting the hang of Mikes swing teachings. It was difficult at first to grasp the material, but I kept at it because when I did execute the movement properly the swing felt effortless, I was getting a penetrating ball flight and a very optimistic outlook about being able to play regularly again. Now, I am able to practice for as much as I want so that I can groove in the swing and finally take it to the course. The L to L drill, that Mike demonstrates here, has been really helpful in developing the correct feeling and confidence in his technique. I would use the drill and start hitting the ball really well. But then, I would begin making full backswings, which would activate my old body movement actions, and bad thing would happen. So, I would advise spending a lot of time on this drill before spending too much time on the full swing. I actually think you could play a round of golf with just this drill and have a decent score. Well, for me anyway. Thank you Mike for all of your wonderful work.

The great Ernest Jones also advocated the 'thumbs & forefingers grip'...this has greatly reduced the tension in my lead forearm & elbow, the firm grip in the last 3 caused me to have serious tennis elbow...Thanks Mike, fantastic...

I can attest to the information given by Mike and Todd Heugly at @ Wasatch Golf Academy. Severe arthritic right hip with back pain after every round for years. Found Todd who passes on a lot of Mike's knowledge and it has been a game changer. First round after 2 weeks practicing the swinging gate, L to L concepts and I was conviced. No pain and better contact. 2nd round I added the grip change and hit more fairways and greens with my irons. Best information given out there.

I've always held my club with the left hand with my three fingers in a strong grip! I quit golf in 2003! Recently I started again! Seeing your swing ! I was close square on the face! But unable to control my shots? I believe this is an extremely important point! Thanks Mr. Malaska! I'm 61 and very agile and normally straight? I couldn't fade and draw my shots? Now I'm holding my club in my fingers softly and I had to use your finger method? And starting to make a nice fade and draw! Short game is doing a whole lot better! Thanks again for your incredible knowledge and advice!

Mike, this seems to be the AHA moment for me. I'm not sure I can find a video of yours on here I haven't watched... And oddly enough, this may be my AHA moment. Specifically with the left hand grip in the thumb and index/middle finger. All of a sudden, it's like someone took the tension out of my wrists and the club swings freely FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY DANG LIFE.

I quit golf because of a bad back and years of absorbing bad "conventional" teaching. Now that my 6 year old has expressed interest, I want to play again. I sincerely believe this video will make it possible. Thank you!

Mike, everything you say makes perfect sense! Took me a little while to understand how to apply the physical movement, also the mental approach you give to managing the game is priceless!! I’m looking for great things when I get out and play in the spring!! Your method is the GOLD standard as far as I’m concerned!! Thank You for the time you have put in to reading and researching the swing to not only get yourself back to where you were as a kid but to help all of us amateurs enjoy the game more! You are a blessing Mike! Thank You so much!!!

Really great. First time I've been able to use a grip that provided both feel and didn't let the club slip in my hands.

In this drill aren't you rotating the forearms through impact?

I'm like a beginner coz I've come back to golf after 20 years and find Mike's videos to be the best I've found so far.

I've been working on the 'throw' release. However it looks like Mike is totating through impact in this drill.

I don't want to confuse my brain by trying to practice two different motions.

Mike, You're blowing my mind buddy! Conventional golf wisdom is to hold on with the last three fingers of the lead hand. But you are right, the harder you squeeze with those fingers, the less the wrists hinge! Excuse me while I pickup my brains all over the floor. :-)

If I use an 8 iron to do the L to L drill, what kind of speed should I see in a normal drill and in a max drill (effort)? If the speed I am getting in that drill is not what your think I should be getting, what error is probably being made? Thanks for your videos.

I can understand the greater emphasis on developing speed through use of the hands (Larry Rinker takes this general approach as well) but if you don't move your body at the same time you will hit the ball fat, unless you place it off your trail foot. That's my never-ending problem; I'm fat and lazy (though not happy) and I can train my arms and wrists and hands to mimic yours but I end up being static.

I know these L-L lever is creating the speed of the clubhead, but doesnt being that relaxed make it difficult to controll the clubface?
