It's Over - The Petersens (LIVE) - An Ellen, Katie & Matt Original

preview_player
Показать описание
"It's Over" is quite possibly the easiest song Katie and Ellen ever composed together. Back in 2015, Ellen wrote the chorus in about five minutes and called Katie who then wrote all the verses that evening. Matt helped put the swing style music together and there ya have it!

►LYRICS - It's Over (an Ellen Haygood and Katie Petersen original)
How do I tell you it's over?
How can I convince you to move on?
How can I get you to see
That your last love won't be me?
That all that we once had is now gone?

Yes, it's true in the past that I loved you
But those tears that I've cried are no more
Please just try to understand
That you'll never be my man
My heart has gone away and closed the door

How do I tell you it's over?
How can I convince you to move on?
How can I get you to see
That your last love won't be me?
That all that we once had is now gone?

Now, please don't ask the things you could work on
Don't you see, dear, you've done nothing wrong?
I just came to let you know
That my answer's still a "no"
Your love for me has lasted far too long

How do I tell you it's over?
How can I convince you to move on?
How can I get you to see
That your last love won't be me?
That all that we once had is now gone?

Well, look right there, Sally Anne, she's a nice girl
And I've heard my mama say she's sweet on you
Well, I've tried my very best
Won't you please give me a rest?
Just go on now and find somebody new

How do I tell you it's over?
How can I convince you to move on?
How can I get you to see
That your last love won't be me?
That all that we once had is now gone?

Oh honey, how do I tell you it's over?
How can I convince you to move on?
How can I get you to see
That your last love won't be me?
That all that we once had is now gone?

How can I get you to see
That your last love won't be me?
And all we had once is now gone

WOW! It's 2020 and the Petersens are making music like it's the 1950s (You know, when country music was authentic), and I LOVE IT!!

I've been listening to Bluegrass music for most of my 65yrs and I have to say Emmet is the best dobro player I have ever heard. Incredible, I never get tired of hearing him play. I never get tired of hearing you guys sing and play.

I love The Petersons! I don't understand how 22 poor lost souls could put a thumbs down on this but we should pray for them.

I have to make a second comment. This song really is a masterpiece and I like it better with every listen!

The Petersens add "Western Swing" to their repertoire. Well done!

Mother 'Maybelle' Petersens' crew just keep bringin' it! Wow, where are the major record labels? Why have the Petersens not yet been signed to big fat lucrative contract. "It's Over" is a million plus seller with the right attention and promotion from the Big Boy record companies. These kids got talent to spare and could be HUGE with, like I've said, the right management, label and promotion! Are you listening Nashville? Petersens, I love this one!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Life lesson: never break a singer’s heart because they’ll write a song about it, but if you’re lucky the song will be a hit like this one and you don’t have to feel so bad.

It´s nice singing with great voices. The style of music reminds me the period of USA that was very long time ago . I think it´s like a period of 30´ the last century. It´s fine listening a music like this. Thank you so much The Petersen´s.

This is such a great original song! I thought it was some old standard that I didn't know, and was pleasantly stunned to find out that it is your very own creation. Congrats!! 🙂🏆

Hello you dear Petersens, when I see the rather sad developments here in Europe / Germany and the great tension across the Atlantic shortly before the election, it is very refreshing for me to see that you are recording new songs. Please carry on. You are absolutely super class. Thank you and God bless you Petersens. Let us pray for our countries. Greetings from Bremen / Germany

Ellen really shines on banjo and lead vocals, while the rest of the Petersens add their signature touches. Also loved the humorous bit at the end!

I've listened to this dozens of times and always wondered who wrote it. I assumed someone famous popularized it. Well, now I see it is an original and I'm stunned. This song is just way above all the rest. Amazing.

Talent upon talent upon talent. It's almost unfair for one family to have so much talent...but I'm glad you do.
