Unfortunately, some of us were forced to live off the dole. After my cancer, I was financially ruined. I lost everything, including my dog, my car, my apartment, my storage. 66 and 4 screws in my back, shaved discs, removed disc, spinal fusion, bone graft on a fractured pars bone. I had two spinal surgeries within a 5-month period in 2014-2015. So, I took an earlier retirement than I planned (this May). But I have no guilt about it, just a little disappointment that I couldn't work till 70. Sh!+ happens. It is what it is.
