This is going to work great with my PFSense firewall/router. I already have DNS and DHCP running which will make this NAS deployment really easy. Thanks!

Dear Synology
The package description states that the AD Server package also supports Linux clients.
Do you have any tutorial on adding Linux clients to this domain?
Also, does this mean I can make roaming profiles across Windows and Linux clients?

Perfect for our clients in the bussines field !
I was wondering if MS active directory lightweight directory service application should work for managing the AD of the Synology Diskstation.. ?
So I can use existing GPO edits and import them, and using Windows to manage the AD..
That would be great, hope that this will work..

Hi, My Home folders won't map automatically in windows. I can however map them manually but that's not a great idea when configuring a lot of computers. Any idea what could be wrong?

Followed the directions but still can't add a computer to the newly created domain. It keeps saying that the computer name was previously created using a different set of credentials. It is a newly imaged computer. How do I remove stale or conflicting accounts?

I am interested to see if synology can solve the following use case:
I have offices at two physical locations, and employees can work out of either of these offices. I am trying to see if it is possible to have synology act as a domain controller for these locations. Keeping in mind that internet connectivity (VPN) between these two branches is erratic. So I am looking on the lines of a domain controller each for the the two locations, which have their user accounts/passwords synchronized somehow (to avoid dependency on VPN). We do have a gsuite/workspace account for our employees, so that gives us access to LDAP, etc. But using just LDAP client cannot help us to help us manage the computers and associated policies as well. Please suggest!

Can't found the package in the package center, the only one i found is directory server, but this one in the documentation is said to be unable to act as a active directory server for windows...
Synology pls work on that, some people who bought your technology can't work because of that...
thank you

Your package description for the AD server says you can deploy Windows applications, but I don't see any documentation or videos discussing this process.

I am interested in doing this with a Synology RS3617RPxs. But I also need Windows Server 2016 which I would like to put onto a VM on the RS3617RPxs. If I do this will I be able to joint the Windows Server 2016 on the VM to the Synology Domain Controlleron the RS3617RPxs?
