My teacher said “everyone gets anxious, everyone has anxiety you just need to try, and I’m picking on you to help you” I explained to her that it doesn’t help... she still picks on me

I have been suffering of anxiety since childhood but I thought it's just who I am.

I had all of these as a child, phobias, social anxiety, selective mutism, GAD & separation anxiety, but I never knew back then that it was called anxiety, until I was 21 years old did I found out, I wish I knew sooner. My life would´ve been much easier.

I’m watching this because my son deals with fears and I want to help him but watching this reminds me of what an anxious child I was. The difference is I didn’t verbalize it to anyone.

Always great to hear folks talking about childhood anxiety. I see it a lot in my own practice as a child psychologist. I’ll be making my own videos on that subject soon.

This was excellent from start to finish. It offers a vocabulary and a structure to deal with various problems that kids have based on anxiety and other issues. It has great advice at the end for both parents and kids. It's a wise action plan that all parents can learn from.

This webinar is very helpful, I hope many parents get a chance to learn about the various strategies shared. One key message is that anxiety is very treatable. In my personal experience, what made the difference was a holistic approach that included mindfulness and emotional freedom techniques. There isn't a one-size-fits-all solution and a combination of strategies to help both parents and children heal their anxiety is often the best approach.

This would be a good content that I recommend all of them prior to contact with someone whom I used to call a teacher when I was young at my 20s.
I always appreciate all of your dedication to doing your defense and military service to make our society better and safer.

Maybe pupils are anxious for entirely rational reasons. If you face intimidation or abuse in an adult workplace its socially unacceptable and you complain or go to the police. Yet we expect kids to cope with brutalising conditions that often resemble prison rules where bullys rule and authority turns a blind eye. If you complain then you are the one that is blamed. Teachers and parents say fight back, but if you do it just escalates the violence and always leads to the victim getting the blame.

When I was 9… I was an “early bloomer”. I was in 4th grade with “HUGE” boobs… I would no longer wear my fav clothes if my “boobs” looked too big in them. I would wear big baggy sweaters and 0 long-sleeves or shirts that are tight. I had so much anxiety that I didn’t know what to do, I wanted to blend in w/ the other kids. I didn’t want to go to school because I thought kids would make fun of me… so, my dad set me up for therapy. I noticed that I had a mental health disorder where I see things on my body that other people didn’t… I DO NOT HAVE BOOBS!!!! I would tell myself every night, and when I did have boobs…I LOVED Never think ur not good enough. That’s a mistake I made…
