Whilst we spend all our time discussing what Elon has done, Elon spends all his time discussing what he is going to do.

Pray for Elon. He is not evil, he has limitation and so are we all more or less.

I’m Australian and we never had anything like the Social Security Ponzi scheme. Pension payments always came from consolidated revenue so the problems couldn’t be hidden by slight of hand bookkeeping. In 1985 the Labor government (how times have changed) ‘privatised’ the pension system so that money was invested in special funds specifically for people’s retirement. The individual owned the money and when you died it was part of your estate. This has driven 40 years of economic growth in Australia.

As a diagnosed higher-functioning autistic I believe that I have an insight into Elon on some levels. One of these is honesty. Having some of the neurotypical social neural circuitry missing, I find lying and general dissimulation difficult, very stressful and in total conflict with my moral compass. Living a life of honesty is so much simpler - there is only one narrative - the truth. You don't get into ever increasingly complicated knots of having to remember what you told to whom and who may have told what to someone else etc. I believe that I can see this in Elon. If you watch him being interviewed he appears totally transparent - what he says is entirely consistent, there is no evasion, when he gets onto to something about which he feels strongly you can see the tears in his eyes, it all appears 100% genuine - he is either telling the truth or a very clever actor - I think Asperger's/autism and truthfulness is the simpler explanation. And I think that this desire for simplicity not just in social situations but in everything is what also inspires his engineering. As a software engineer myself, I see again and again that complexity whist initially appearing clever is actually dumb - it soon swamps a system making it fragile. Simplicity is the route to success. You see this time and time again in Elon's engineering - less is always better....

I had not realized the imposing magnitude of Shapiros eyebrows until this profile view.

I always said "retirement means work because you want to, at something you enjoy, rather than just work at something because you need to."

We no longer need the FBI, ATF, board of education, BOP, DEA, and many other government agencies. Downsizing is the easy part. We just needed an administration willing to do it.

I’m an Australian. We have Superannuation. About 10% of pay is paid into individual employees Super Fund . As an individual you can choose to pay even more into Super…. Which becomes available at retirement. Also, monies put into Super have tax benefits over yearly income.
I’m not saying it is perfect…. but it’s a system whereby folks ‘save/ invest’ for their retirement. Which also has the benefit of retirees being less reliant on Government.

When you say if your broken down it's different, every single tradesman is broken the fuck down by retirement.... bad knees, hip replacements, arthritis, fucked backs, etc...

Older Americans (and other countries) are depressed because they can't afford to live, and they're watching their children and grandchildren grow up being unable to afford to live.

Does Ben Shapiro really believe that the guy who has accomplished the impossible can't deal with national debt and spending?
I would like to remind Ben Shapiro of a well-known concept at this point: 'Don't bet against Elon'.

Military spending and foreign aid must be cut too in order to balance the budget.

My 3 year old son started collecting used golf balls, sold them for $500, and started investing in stocks.

The most Shapiro thing ever.

"If it isn't obvious to me what you're doing, you're fired" is such "I could never be wrong" behavior

The one thing I HIGHLY disagree with Ben here on, is when he states that he doesnt think retirement and relaxing on a beach somewhere is good for human beings. You should continue to work so that your life has meaning. That is over stepping, who are you to judge that other than for yourself. If someone worked all their life and can now retire and wants to spend all their time on a beach, f you for suggesting otherwise. Let people be that earned it.

The question is how will he respond when he realizes how much power he has. We can already see a change. How he will change is the big question.
