How did the Ottomans overcome an internal crisis? History of the Ottoman Empire (1400 - 1500)

"
The start of the 15th century in the Ottoman Empire marked the final years of Bayezid I’s reign
as Sultan.

In 1400, major tensions began to rise between the Ottoman leader and a Turko-Mongol
warlord by the name of Timur. This once cold-war reached a heated climax in 1402 at the Battle
of Ankara.

While on his way back through Anatolia to confront the threat of his powerful rival, Bayezid
was caught off guard by Timur and his troops as they besieged the city of Ankara, withholding
the only source of water for the Ottoman troops and forcing them to engage in battle. By the
end of the conflict, Timur’s army prevailed while Bayezid and his sons attempted to make an
escape.

You could tell Mehmed was gonna win the civil war from the start. He's the only one who has a legit portrait, the others only had sketchy drawings, meaning you could tell who was remembered by history and who wasn't.

fun fact: bayezid named his sons after prophets. in turkish, süleyman means solomon, isa means jesus, musa means moses, mehmed and mustafa are variations of the name muhammed.

the fact that the ottomans didn't continue the tried and true tradition of the byzantines/romans in countless civil wars and mutinies is quite impressive. it made them a unifying force.

Amir Timur is not Turco-mongol, he used only the disipline of mongols. The people and Timur self is completly Turkic. Today Uzbekstan✋🏻 we are Turks

The 4 most important factors in the rapid expansion of the Ottoman Empire:

1. The Ottomans employed steppe war tactics that Europeans were not familiar with. And the Ottomans made good use of gunpowder, cannons and hand cannons that the Mongols learned from China and brought to the Middle East. A century later, Europe developed the arquebus and the Ottomans adapted this new technology to their armies and developed this type of weapon further.
2. Because the war with Christians was religiously appreciated by the Turkish people in Anatolia, the Turkish people migrated from other Beyliks in Anatolia and joined the Ottoman army.
3. The Ottomans were in a region far from Mongol oppression. For this reason, Turkish tribes migrated to the Ottoman lands. Thus, the Ottoman Empire could settle this Turkish population in the new lands it conquered.
4. The Ottoman tolerance of the Christian civilian population and did not press for forced conversion, which protected the Ottomans from great Christian revolts even during the Ottoman weakness, such as the struggle for the throne

Mehmed 2 said to Murad to persuade him to return:
"If I am Sultan, I order you retake control of your armies"
"If you are Sultan, then retake control of your armies."

When the ottomans stopped killing their brothers to avoid civil war, that was when the empire started to go downhill.
