HOW TO CATCH CATFISH with CHICKEN LIVERS!

Billy Jake and Sam launch the boat. They head up a main lake creek in pursuit of channel catfish with chicken livers. Chicken liver is pretty gross to handle, but it makes great catfish bait. Channel Catfish cannot resist the smell of some chicken liver in the water.
Billy Jake is using light tackle with 4 pound test line. This makes a small fish seem like a big one. A small catfish can be a challenging fish fight on light tackle. A light tackle weightless presentation is sometimes what it takes to catch lots of catfish.
Keep that chicken liver as cold as possible. The colder chicken liver is the better it is to handle and put on a hook. When the liver gets hot it gets soupy and hard to handle. Just worm a small piece on a hook and get ready for some channel cat action. Chumming the water helps a lot as well. Just throw a few pieces out where you are going to fish to start a feeding frenzy. Lots of chums work when on catfish. A handful of mushed up chicken liver is hard to beat.

you know bud you use a knife to cut off small but big enough pieces it will still work it will not get as soft and drip off the hook my gpa taught me that and me and him fished for them in swift water under debries that was jammed up over fallen trees and stumps he was more of a crappie man here in arkansas but he knew how to catch his catfish all we would use is a bullet sinker and apply the liver to the hook less money than buyin the big sinkers may God bless you and remember jesus saves and forgives he paid the debt for our sins so that we when we come with blodnesss he will forgive
