Easy and fast RELEARNING to a non shifting automatic transmission, limp mode, transmission stuck in 3rd gear.
It’s a 2008 VW Passat. Will work on 98-11 passat, Jetta, golf and GTI and most brands and models.
Keep in mind, this is a relearning programming. If your transmission goes in limp mode, it means you car has a problem and it needs to be fix as soon as possible.
In this case, the problem was a low transmission fluid.

This process can at least help you to drive safely to a mechanic shop.

2023 gang … When they say chances are that everything you are going through someone else might also be going through it. And this right here is one of those. Saw my car was just rev’in and not making much of a distance, checked gears and boom stuck in 3rd. Pulled up on the side of the road googled and you were top recommended videos and boy you do deserve that top recommended spot. Thank you for your video

Gotta give credit where credits due!! You're a lifesaver! Backed out and slammed hard into drive. Trans wouldn't shift outta 3rd gear. Made a loop under the freeway pulled into gas station did a quick search on Google and your vid popped up. Tried it and it worked first attempt! Much appreciated my man! Worked on 2016 VW Jetta tsi

Good info but it is a pre-cursor to a valve body issue that needs to be addressed. Remove valve body - Clean solenoids or replace them tons of videos on here on performing this service.

In my case, my transmission was working perfect until I replaced the battery.
I drove short distance to see if it would reset. When it didn't, I called the local VW dealership. They could not help over the phone and they suggested I make a service appointment (surprise, surprise)$$$
Watched your video and solved the problem in seconds.

I bought a mk5 rabbit and it was stuck in 3rd. Ended up needing a new valve body. Drove it a hundred miles and it got stuck in fifth and somehow got back to third and got stuck again. Pulled into a restaurant and ate then started it up again and shifted perfectly fine all the way home. Any ideas why?

Great Vid!! I was ready to take it to the shop. I changed the alternator on my 2006 Passat 2.0t, and had to do this. It also fixed a previous problem of it shifting later than it should.
