“Trauma informed” seems primarily to be a marketing gimmick used by therapists who include the phrase in their skills list. Not harming or re-traumatizing should always have bern a fundamental principle of ethics in psychotherapy..

Please be transparent about how deceptive this buzz phrase can be to vulnerable potential clients.
