I am 84 years old and lost my husband so I don’t cook anymore. After watching Rachel’s video on the beef stew I just had to try it. I was fixing for seven people so I had to add more beef broth and a few more vegetables. It didn’t come out as thick as Rachel‘s but I added some cornstarch, mixed with water, and it helped a lot. Just a note for those who are going to try this. Make sure your potatoes are not too small or they will get mushy. It was a big hit and I have leftovers to enjoy the next day. I watch her every day just for the enjoyment of watching her cook, and how she enjoys it. I also fixed corn bread to go with it, and it was a hit.

I’m 87 years old and enjoy your recipes. I live with my daughter and her husband so I don’t get to do much cooking, but things are going to change soon because I am going to start making some of these recipes. They all sound delicious.

I have gone to many other cooking sites with other cooks, BUT when I “discovered you” I was “ hooked!!”Your step by step teaching techniques are right on point! You dont get “cutsie” or “Joke around” to hold our attention, You speak and from teach from the heart! And you verbalize such respect for your family, especially “My Ron” !Love when you causally mention anout how the weather is at the moment, your plans of going to Texas etc. you dont overdo it..And when you taste your food, the expressions you make! That lil “Rachel dance”when you really love the taste, OMG! Love it, you make me smile, Wish you were my neighbor to have coffee with you and just “Chat!”I live in N. Azusa, Ca. Don’t ever change your Style! Con Mucho Amor! MsCam

I am French and used to cook a lot, not so much after I lost my husband. I watched so many shows from a lot of great chefs, but I think Rachel beats them all. I appreciate all the flavors she adds to her food and her methods. Her French onion soup method is the best in my book. She sure loves food and it shows👏💕

I don't think I've ever enjoyed watching someone cook as much as this video. I like how you have moments of silence, just letting the viewer hear the sizzle or bubble of pots on the stove. It's relaxing as well as informative. Thank you.

Hi Rachel! I made your old fashioned beef stew, step by step, just as you showed us! It was so delicious and flavorful and 'My Michael' was in beef stew heaven! Thank you for your beautiful talent to instruct and teach. I am so happy that I found you! It has been my pleasure to watch your videos and so much fun to try your recipes! I regularly make both your salsas, and they have become staples in my refrigerator! Thank you!

Hi, Rachel! I made your Old Fashioned Beef Stew yesterday. I usually make beef stew in my pressure cooker, but I will have to say that cooking it slowly was worth the wait! It was "over the top" delicious! I love watching your videos and plan to make some more of your dishes! I am a retired teacher and you do such a great job demonstrating your recipes and explaining "why" you do things a certain way! Keep up the great work!

She's so easy to understand. I love the way she is so down to earth...even to the point of talking with her mouth full and sucking the gravy off her fingers. Now that I've discovered Rachel I'll be watching more of her videos.

I just tried this recipe tonight! My husband has been saying it’s the best stew he ever had anywhere and had two servings. I didn’t have bacon grease so used butter instead and used 3/4 cup red wine plus 5 cups of the broth instead of the broth alone. It was to die for and the meat was fall apart tender. All I can say is wow! The best ever! Thank you, Rachel!
