In this video, we’re going to talk about subclinical scurvy. Scurvy is a severe vitamin C deficiency. When it’s classified as subclinical, that means it doesn't show up on a typical blood test because it’s still developing. Another term for this is latent scurvy.

Here are some of the symptoms of scurvy:
•Capillary damage
•Fatigue
•Bleeding gums
•Weakness
•Irritability
•Leg pain
•Inflammation
•Achy joints and muscles

Before spending money on expensive tests, try consuming foods high in vitamin C to see if you improve!

Your vascular system is most susceptible to vitamin C deficiency. Vitamin C keeps the collagen in your arteries strong and elastic. Without enough vitamin C, your arteries can develop lesions and lose their vascular integrity.

Capillary damage occurs when you have high levels of sugar in your blood. Sugar competes with the vitamin C in your body, causing vitamin C levels to drop. When you have capillary damage, arterial bleeding, and inflammation, your body sends cholesterol and calcium to repair the damage.

This can also happen in your skin, resulting in rosacea. You can also develop bleeding gums, a nosebleed, or experience damage to your nerves. In addition to vitamin C, vitamin B1(thiamine) can help protect your body from high levels of sugar in your blood.

The best way to prevent scurvy is to eat foods rich in vitamin C and keep your blood sugars low by going on keto and doing intermittent fasting.

Try some of these foods to help prevent vitamin C deficiency and scurvy:
•Dark leafy greens
•Bell peppers
•Cabbage/Sauerkraut
•Berries
•Citrus fruits

I used high doses vitamin c through day to cure gum disease that my dentist failed to help with.

I had unexpected black and blue bruise on my skin that started out when I started keto. It happened because I didn't include enough vitamin C foods during my transition. Vitamin C took a back seat to HCLF plan! It cleared right up when I paid attention.

It hit me hard this year because of an issue with getting good tomatoes and being unable to eat citrus due to a medication. I was taken off that and given really high doses of C. I live in a wealthy part of Connecticut in the USA, so it can happen to ANYONE. Please, take this seriously. The early symptoms alone are not worth any of it, ever.

Bleeding gums, fatigue, aches and pains? Why does almost everything have the same symptoms? I quit years ago after a check up led to cholesterol medicine, paxil, and the threat of bp meds. Cholesterol was 210, after a few blood tests still over 200 I was told I need to take this serious because it's not getting better. Paxil was because after falling over 30' at 19 and shattering my pelvis I was told after months of work I should be able to walk. Pushed through excruciating pain and was on my feet in 3 months. Pushed myself constantly, never thought of the 15lb weight restriction. Then we had our daughter 2 weeks later my dad moved in just whacked out of his mind because he was at the beginning of a divorce. I went to the doctor and explained my situation and how I'm always on the move, had always been that way and got way more done than a person w/o a ton of physical damage. He told me people with chronic pain, even if they don't let it stop them suffer from depression. After arguing that I told him sometimes I feel like I didn't sleep at all but still got up and worked everyday that I'm not sad or stay in bed so I'm not depressed. In fact despite the stress was very happy he insisted paxil would help with chronic pain. After a few dosage increases I became a manic mess. Stopped the cholesterol meds after I looked and seen it's not that high but unfortunately a year of paxil gave me severe depression. In a year I ruined almost everything I'd worked for including relationships, even childhood friends. I stopped fall of 2010 and found my original problems mirror dr bergs explanation of the earlier stages of adrenal problems. Getting better but still far from what I was before spring of 09 when paxil happened. I made enough $$ my wife was able to focus on our daughter, all the bill were paid, we went out with friends almost every weekend and all because I had the drive to make money working for myself. It makes me angry anytime my current family doc mentions ssri drugs or talking to a phyc. because after a dose of steroids I felt like me again. So for the last few years I've been focused on inflammation. I think the mania burned my adrenals out after they were constantly stressed by injury and life. I read for hours before even thinking of taking something a dr gave me and try getting people who still talk to me to do the same. Most docs claimed docs like this are dangerous, practicing junk science but couldn't help me fix what their way had done

One of America's greatest chemists, Dr. Linus Pauling, a winner of two Nobel Prizes, long ago advocated taking high dosages of Vitamin C to prevent colds, the flu, and even cancer. He himself took three grams a day and lived to be 94.

What I do with my lemons is Juice them all and then put the juice in ice trays and freeze it.   It last for 1 or 2 months like that.  I hate food prepping.

I've read scurvy was caused in those British sailors for eating only salted dried meats. And, that USDA has known a 100 years now that people who are only carnivore diets never develop scurry. And, that fresh meat not dried dehydrated salted meat, has small amounts of Vitamin C. This small amount of vitamin C in the meat is enough to prevent scurvy.
