You Can Dye Concrete?!

I had no idea until I recently did this project. Thought you guys might enjoy it :)

if you dye the water before adding it to the cement, you can speed up the process. also, itll make it easier to color match multiple batches if you measure out the cement, water, and dye

Use the hammer drill feature without a bit to vibrate the edges to get the big bubbles out. Beautiful work

Yes.

Check your version of dye for instructions.

Quikcrete liquid dye works with gray portland cement.

Using it in White Cement will not result in the color you are looking for.

Added note.

You can use latex/acrylic paint as a concrete additive.
Depending on the amount and color it makes pretty colors and patterns.

Adding latex/acrylic paint to concrete for fence posts is a safe way to dispose of left over latex/acrylic paint.

The paint is a substitute for some of the water.

Did you know that this dying process was used for decades here in India? Much before floor tiles and marble flooring, we had this type of colourful floors in our house.

Buy a couple slate roofing tiles. Wrap a them up in a towel you will not use again & smash with a hammer until you have small slate bits. Add that to your concrete. You might need to wet polish the counter top after
