I've always loved the idea of Cahara and D'Arce's friendship, they're just 2 people who plunged into the darkness of the dungeons for their love...

I like how Cahara is the only "normal" dude in the middle of insane larger than life people, he's just trying to survive and not in there for honor, revenge or prophecy. Him being the "most canon" character to help the girl fullfil her fate while being the regular guy in the dungeon is a great touch.

....Then Cahara was acknowledged by a God and D'arce brought her long-lost love back to life! Yay for happy endings!

Tragically, we can assume Cahara was the one who took the girl to become the God of Fear & Hunger since it's present in the sequel. With Ragnavldr, Enki and D'arce (in a sense) had concrete influence across the sequel game.

Ragnavldr with August as a descendant who slays evil and which is why the world hasn't been steamrolled.

Enki with his Flesh Bibles insinuating he achieved Enlightenment.

And D'arce with Le'garde's (now Kaiser) presence in the sequel.

That leaves Cahara whom allowed the girl to ascend to the God of Fear and Hunger which by the way, led to an age where humanity advanced greatly in terms of technology stated in the ending.

It's just so fucking cruel that the only one of the four who still has people waiting for him was the only one who never escaped the dungeon. D'arce is only in it for L'egarde, she would have hapily stayed in the dungeon to be with him; Enki for "enlightenment", and nothing else; Ragnavaldr for revenge, he didn't really care if he lived or died in that dungeon, he just wanted to avenge his family, he even went on to hunt all the monsters to extinction once he got out... but Cahara only wanted the money, so he can go home and free his pregnant wife from the brothel.

This conversation is especially sad when you realize Cahara is canonically the best in-universe candidate for being the one sacrificed to bring around the God of Fear and Hunger.
