I can’t even effectively distinguish between 320kbps mp3 and a wave file. And I don’t mean listening to the same two seconds of the file over and over. You can usually hear some nuances that give it away. But lining up 10 separate tests and just flipping back and fourth as they play. Do that 5 times and tell me the results. I noticed when I was picking just based on what I thought sounded better I actually choose the MP3 more?! It also needs to me a freshly create MP3 made from the wave file. Streaming at 320kbps I believe would be a different story but I haven’t set up such a test yet. I’m still getting over the results of the first test. 😝

How much headroom do you like to see on a track to be mastered from clients? Do you ever ask for another mix with more/less headroom? As always, love your content, and thank you 🙏

I can hear the difference in processing at 48kHz and 96kHz. Especially while mixing.

We need to make a lousness standard above -14 that's way to low. -8 to -10 is a good standard.
