It doesn’t matter much if you tap it quickly while you’re locked onto an item, tapping will always do force push. It seems there likes a hidden 5 second cooldown to the push or something? Maybe it’ll be eliminated upon further upgrades for the dark side at least.

If you want the deactivation to work 100% of the time just always be mindful of what’s in front of you in terms of telekinetic-friendly objects.

I like how skywalker saga lightsaber can stay visible as it dangles in their waist when unequipped but for complete saga it disappears in their waist
