DO NOT DO THIS. This isn't undervolting. The voltage remains the same. All you're doing is lowering the max temp the CPU can reach before it throttles the performance to lower temps. So your CPU runs cooler, but you're losing all of the performance because when it throttles, it lowers your GHz downward.

These 7950x cards are designed to run at 95C. By lowering the limit, you are throttling performance. This is not undervolting. Undervolting allows for the same clock speeds at lower voltage and temperature.

That's not undervolting. That's a temp limit. That means it will run full voltage until it reaches that temp and then throttle down. With undervolting you always run the cpu on lower power but with same clockspeeds. So if you would undervolt and it is stable you'd get a higher speed at the same temperature because less voltage creates less heat. You can of course still use a temp limit then and you should probably.
I just did an offset of -10 on all cores in bios (highest not crashing on my 7950x) which is also very easy and gained me like 200 mhz on 80C which is my max temp.

Broo i love you! I was struggling for hours, to lower my temperature, I watched bunch of 20min+ videos with a lot of complicated stuff. Because of your tutorial, I just run my Ryzen 9 7950x3d always on max 75 celcius and my PC works a much quieter, and I have also set energy consumption on max 105W. Works just brilliant, i didnt noticed any FPS drops.

Did it on my Asus b650e, only difference is I had to set the temperature manually to 70. I didn’t had the option to choose between different ones, anyway is working good :)

Unfortunately I didnt find this “Thermal Limit” option in the bios of my Asus X670E Creator Wifi motherboard. Is there any setting I have to change before it apearing?

So issue I am having now is the Diode Temp is at 81C, PKG temp is 72 but CPU temp is only 61C. undervolting will only help the diode package on my end. is that right? I have r9 7950x

I really like this method. I wasn't able to find eco mode in ryzen master for some reason just like many others. I was able to find eco mode in Bios but I don't even know if it's working properly or not. I use a different motherboard but mine also has the 70, 80, and 90 temperature limit. After I set my limit to 70 Degree, my CPU only uses about 70~75W to run a game called Wo Long. To me, that sounds like 65W eco mode I was looking for. As long as I can get low temperature and low wattage, my goal has been accomplished. Thank you so much. I know some people down here says this is different from undervolting, but I would like to know how undervolting can be better than this? and if so, by how much?

LOL this is IDIOTIC, use ryzen master if you want to undervolt. JUST setting a C limit will throttle the chip to shit.

The reason this video has 526 dislikes and only 162 likes, is because this is wrong and misleading! All you have done is increase the amount of time the CPU will thermal throttle which means yes it will run lower voltages but only when its also crippling performance. The way to undervolt is to run a curve optimiser! Don't follow this terrible "guide" unless you merely want to change the thermal limit only
