Thank you. I have watched a lot of overclocking how-tos !!! This one is the best for Ryzen 9 (7900x for me). Got me to optimal thermal and peak clock performance the very fastest and follows some structured approach. Awesome !👍👍👍

Nice video explaining how it is on idle is when the instability happens. 😃

Happy belated :P
I and I think many others would comment on the video with the 13700k :)

This is hands down the best video I have seen .. I was doing the cores backwards...thinking higher negatives on my best cores was best and lower on the other cores... can't wait to try this tomorrow . Thank you so MUCH !!!

On Ryzen Master utility in Basic View (not Advanced View) you can have the utility find the best values for you by running the "Curve Optimizer Mode" on "Per Core". It will take around 2hrs to run the test and give you the correct undervoltage value for each core.

I'm not a big fan of going to the limit with the curve optimizer. My 7950x runs stable with -30 on all cores, but there's not a big difference between (heat, performance) -25 and -30, so I set it to -25 (no need to test each core by its own). The times of real overclocking or undervolting are gone nowadays. we have to trust what the cpu creates out of different values like the curve optimizer.

This is not the best way to undervolt and test. use corecycler. It uses aida64, prime95 and ycrhuncher alternatively. I bet you if you put your cpu through a prime95 test with those numbers it will fail. Also you can setup a whea logger to see if there are any errors on your cores. Also in my case on my 7800x3d the cores core 0 with star and core 1 being second core as you said have lower numbers -35 and -30 than core 5 -25, core 6 -27 and core 4 -28. So the core with the star does not mean it has to be lower everytime. There is a long process on how to test it to be sure it will not random restart. I preffer to neve have random restarts than getting lower unstable numbers in my undervolt.

I have -30 on every core. I'll definitely give a try your way tomorrow morning. Can't wait;)

Btw, On my MSI board there were for only 1 Bios version the Enhanced Mode Boost PBO and those were giving some good results with higher boost on every core. Normal boosting on every core is sth like 4880MHz with Enhanced there were 4950MHz. They promised they ll bring them back in the future. Maybe your Mobo manufacture will also add such future.

Very good information. Especially on the fact that you need to voltages higher on your best cores to keep the frequency up. But I think a disclaimer on what you define as stability would be nice. I find that the AIDA64 SHA3 test is next to impossible to pass with any cores at -30. I don't even start real stress run before I can pass several runs of the SHA3 test.

Since you were using Ryzen Master, why didn’t you just use the curve optimize mode to calculate the best values, since it has that feature. Or at least show that in your video and your reasoning for doing it manually?

Ive just put -15 to ever core so I get less temp and use less wattage. didnt even bother to increase
core frequency bc 7950x3d is a beast already. Probably it aint doing much anyways 🙈

Just built my 7950X3D system last week, and unfortunately, I didn't do enough research about DDR5 compatibility, hence why I accidentally bought 2 sets of 32GB DDR5 6, 000 MT/s (CL36) RAM having a total of 64GB. I have been tweaking the memory for a couple of days and gave up using the EXPO profile because of instability issues, initially at least.

Then, 2 days ago, I realized that my BIOS version is from July 2022, so I updated to the latest one. And lo and behold, the EXPO profile now works with 4 DIMMs, and I was able to push it to 6, 200 MT/s. As for the CPU, I was able to do an all core offset of -32 and it is stable with the LLC set to Extreme. So far, cores 8 to 15 are always running between 5.20 GHz to 5.75 GHz. I guess I won the lottery.

Well I'm using -50 offset per core and pbo with 85C limit and positive 200MHz. It's working great so far. CPU R7 7700 msi B650m gaming wifi motherboard.

Can you do a video about ryzen 5000? Or it's basically the same and i can do it just like you did for the 7000? I didnt really understand really well what u said in the end of the video

Test all you're curve settings with aida 64 cpu sha 3 benchmark, that's the hardest one to succeed with a undervolt. My 7800X 3Dwas stable with - 30 on every benchmark but crashed at sha 3 😂

Just did per core today, -15 on fastest and -25 on the rest gave me 484, 309, 250

-15 fastest and -30 on rest gave me 472, 318, 251 which one would u keep as the daily overclock?

5:09 Its not that its unstable at idle when undervolted, it is instead unstable from exiting the idle into higher frequency.
