IRacing cost way to much to be looking like a mobile game

I was getting 200-300 fps on a RTX3090 but after watching Matts stream I realised I should be getting more like 50 fps by ticking a bunch of settings and adding a load of cubes, I'm now getting 50 fps, I'm feeling far more grown up now

I think iRacing’s great. The UI and physics are a big step up from my previous experience of Pole Position on the Atari.

I started on Forza 6, then went to GT7. When I moved to ACC I could barely make it around the track. I tried iRacing recently and within a couple of hours I was ok. I find I get better road feedback and tire noise in ACC. I can't feel the tires hook up in iRacing nor get any indication when they brake loose. My opinion.

I’m a complete beginner to sim racing, I think it’s all perspective. Being a new person trying to get into iracing can seem very daunting (expensive) but honestly, you can keep it down to just a subscription and run the rookie series until your find your discipline and then start buying up into that discipline. Plus you can save for your next series while you race the rookie and then just go like that. You’ll get good discounts buying the series car(s) and tracks all at once and then you can settle into that series and so on and so forth.

TLDR: don’t look at iracing like you have to buy all the content at once (unless your into that sort of thing) buy as you progress with your licenses.

They are all GAMES! The difference is some people enjoy spending a $100 and getting 2, 000 to 5, 000 hours of play for their money and others prefer to spend a $1, 000 for bag graphics and net code!

In ACC I can drive so close my driver's side mirror is scratching the car next to me without killing me 🤣

I'd say ACC definitely wins the cost to quality ratio!

Iracing wins the when it comes to tracking progress and having a legitimate ratings system.

The last ACC stream I watched the top 20 cars were within. 6 seconds of each other in qualifying.. That makes for some good racing

All I did wasz get a nice comfy setup, with a t300rs, and a VR headset, playing acc in the highest settings, it's gorgeous, sounds amazing. And with lfm there's an actual decent platform. I have tons off fun

Here I am running iRacing at 100-130 fps with my 2013 PC, albeit only at 1080p on a single monitor - but still! The money on iRacing is the best money I‘ve spent in the last ten years.
