The Hubble space telescope has been one of the most influential and productive scientific instruments of all time

Only the soulless can look and listen to this without weeping. Magnificent!!!

I think most people, myself included, look at images like these and marvel at the sheer scale of the universe, the unfathomable distances all these objects are from us, and just how massive things are in the universe. But, what blows my mind just as much (and I have to remind myself to look at things in this way) is that for every object we can see, we are also seeing a different point in time. When I look at images like these in terms of all the different amounts of time it took the light from these objects to reach us here, it really makes the relativity of time hit home.

I am speechless. It's not like i see such amazing pictures for the first time, but every time i see such pictures/ videos, it's always mind-blowing. Wow. Unbelievable.

We are so minute, our earth is so tiny, even the solar system is like a grain of sand in a desert that we don't know where it ends. The more we discover, the less we know. It's just inconceivable and fascinating. With insatiable curiosity, I wish I could live another few hundred years to stay in touch with modern space exploration.

Soo beautiful... I heard that their were more stars in the sky than their were grains of sand on the earth. Must be life out there, somewhere...

Almighty Allah, The Creator said in the Glorious Quran 1400 years ago:
"These are the persons who remember Allâh standing, and sitting and (lying) on their sides and reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth (and say, ) `Our Lord! You have not created (all) this in vain. Glory be to You, save us from the punishment of the Fire.`"

The same way we look at them, the same way they look at us.

How can we be the only life? Too many galaxies for us to be it.

The Hubble was such a revolution but we are going to be amazed again when the Webb Space Telescope 🔭 sends its first images. For those who may not be aware, it's 1000x more powerful than Hubble.

Let's appreciate all the intelligent, inspired & hardworking physicists and engineers responsible.

THANK YOU, Lightning Rod for a wonderful upload. I'll show this to my kids someday.

If we put all the money we have spent on military to fight each other and spent it on flying to the stars instead we would be visiting these systems by now instead of destroying each other.

The large edge=on spiral galaxy shown at about 1:42 is NGC4945, in Centaurus. Its small companion, elliptical, off to its right, is NGC4976. 4976 is actually a lot brighter and is easier to see. You cant see that from the video, though.
