BlackBerry Z10 Review Part 2

We've seen the battles between Android, iOS and Windows Phone for some time, and despite minor upgrades here and there, we haven't seen anything particularly revolutionary out of them in some time. BlackBerry has redesigned both its hardware and software from the ground up in order to compete, and it's shown off in their newest smartphone, the BlackBerry Z10. It's packing some great specs, with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 4.2-inch HD display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording, 4G LTE, and BlackBerry 10. Despite the attempt to regain marketshare in an already crowded market, it still needs some work. Can it go head to head with the alternatives out there?

We'll find out in the full video review. Part 2 of 2.

Enjoyed your review. I'm getting this phone for sure. Can you do another review later on with the recently released updates?

Kevin from Toronto here, first time blackberry user and I just got my z10 a few days ago and I haven't had a single one of the issues mentioned in this review. I'm not sure if a software update came out in the last week and a half but everything has been smooth and lag free for me.

I don't know. Maybe it is just me, but I have had my Z10 for over three months and it has NEVER locked up like that. Honestly the best phone I have ever had.

Very good info. I'm a current Android(former BB user). Contract ends in May, and the Q10 is in my sights!

Great review! I found this very informative and glad you showed all the cons. I'm stuck between the Z10 & the Galaxy Note 2 so I kind of wanted to see if Blackberry had fixed their lags or "blackberry problems" as you put it. I would appreciate it if people could offer me their opinions on which is better of the two I mentioned! btw I am currently using a torch 9810 which for being 2 years old in march is not that bad.

Yeah I'm starting to get that impression. After doing a lot more research on the note 2 I'm really liking how customizable the interface is and as much as I love my bb I don't think I can do another 2 years of the "bb issues" Thanks!

Loving the look of this phone. My contract up shortly, but going to wait for A10 to make screen size transition from my Galaxy Note easier.

I love my z10 waited 6 months for it to come out. Best phone in my opinion. I have no lag/crashes no hiccups. 4G LTE is fast on ATT here in KY. No probs with it at all.

In Canada on launch day 50% of buyers were iPhone users not BlackBerry users the z10 is selling very well here and is the best selling blackberry in company history I'm a iPhone user and I'm looking forward to buy a Z10

I want to see Blackberry do well cause it's Canadian, but sadly I don't see this getting more market share than business use. Most issues here can be fixed via a software update, but still..

I think the lag is with App World servers because the phone isn't frozen. New users were flooding with request.

I agree phones shouldn't freeze like that but the galaxy note Samsung s3 all also freeze as well.

The problem that you are facing with the blackberry in this video isn't the specs, but more on the programming. It's like saying a PC game should never have any problems because a desktop can have 32GB of RAM, 1TB HDD, NVIDIA GTX670 2GB video card, and a 3rd generation intel core i7-3770K processor which isn't that case. In the end creating completely new code with have some bugs as oppose to a program using a lot of old code that has been used a lot of years, so updates resolves that over time

I've decided on the Note 2 it just looks so sick & I LOVE the screen size fits well in my baller hands. Plus I id my homework on 4.1 jellybean & damn shit is too dope. Thanks for your help!

Thing is the only so called problem he tied to legacy BB's was this BB World lag....and in this case it was clearly network, as the other apps he used that required data were slow to retrieve info as well...both apps that in my LTE coverage, are lighting quick.

I bought the new Z10 the first day it was available here in Canada. I am disappointed they didn't have more apps available at launch with the delayed release of the phone. My only beefs with this phone are lousy battery life (after two weeks, about 5 hours or so to drain the battery) and no easy way to sync with Outlook. Blackberry Link is a poor replacement for Desktop. As for the battery life, I noted the phone getting hot even when not in use- perhaps an app running in the background?

Does this phone have wireless tethering to your computer?

my fave smartphone is z10! I've got both iP5 and z10, but z10 is really easy to use and it's fast. Got my z10 at launched date here in Dubai. all my friends are all excited about it and pre-booked as well. =)

Guys...the lag was probably with blackberry servers. His connection was consistent throughout the entire video.
