The Real David Platt Documentary, Part 1

Thank you for posting these films. In the mid-90s, I attended MBC with my wife and toddler son. I was also baptized there with Lon Solomon presiding. My fondness for those memories makes me so angry at what Platt did to this church. MBC is in one of the wealthiest counties in the US, and the county also has one of the most culturally and internationally diverse populations in the Mid-Atlantic. The former fact is the reason the SBC wanted to stealthily get their fingers in MBC’s coffers; the latter fact is evidence that Platt and his forcing of DEI/Woke ideology on the congregation shows he did not understand who he was talking to and that he holds his ideology above the gospel. MBC was a barrier breaking congregation in our Nation’s Capital, especially in its ministry to special needs adults and children. What Platt has done is shameful. Again, Thank you Steve for showing this film on your channel. The wolves must be held accountable.

Makes sense, the Lord blesses a church/congregation, then Satan sends his puppets to step in to cause Discord.

Thank you for sharing this, Steve. I first became aware of this abuse through Sal Cordova's channel, Evidences and Reasons, roughly 2-3 years ago. Sal is the most gracious Christian man you'll ever hear. Why is Lon silent? Does he fear these men more than he trusts his Lord?? This whole thing is revolting!! The Lord is not blind. They can't hide anything from HIM!

I'm in South Africa, and the swindling that happened here is/was also happing here in maybe different ways, but the dishonesty and behind-the-scenes plotting and scheming and lying to get things the way certain people in leadership want it are very real. Different places and different methods, but the same scheming.

Heartbreaking! this is a good example of what happens when a wolf grabs hold of the pastoral office! my heart breaks for these dear people who were used to getting expository preaching and they are then fed anecdotes, goofy representations and woke ideology garbage! I've had a few friends at McLean Bible over the years and it's terrible what Platt has done to this ministry. I helped Pastor Lon and a couple others schedule some ministry events and this place was awesome.

As a Christian who spent 8 years as a volunteer missionary paying even my food rent etc from my savings and occasional part time work.I see the problem here is that people are trying to make a career out of the gospel.Jesus and the disciples were never paid why in earth do these people think that they are better. Modern Christianity is a mess.

I attended MBC twenty years ago, before moving out of state.

I am overcome with incredulity that even one person remains in this now compromised, deceitful, deceived, and anti-gospel church.

I grieve for Lon, who was uncompromising in his tenacious grasp of the Gospel. I grieve for the spiritual abuse foisted on the congregation. And I grieve for tge colossal failure of yet another woke church.

Woe to you false prophets/shepherds. Woe!! You will be dealt with.

About 9 years ago, my then pastor's wife did a women's Bible study with a David Platt book... something like Radical Christianity or something? I don't remember. Anyway, the first week when we opened the book, I said nope. There is no way that I am doing this study. I knew something was off about this dude from simply reading 3 pages of a Bible study book he wrote.

This is a very interesting documentary. I have had personal experiences with corporate led churches. Very sad.

My church tried to do a study by Pratt. The first point of this ‘foundations’ of faith had so many alarm bells go off. Being more on alert the rest of the study continued my deepening concern. I found the trailer to this documentary and other sources, delved deeply into scripture and wrote a long detailed paper I emailed to my Sunday school leaders. They were gracious and receptive and immediately discontinued the study due to my argument that he was not someone qualified to teach, however, it didn’t really see even with my biblically detailed refute that his theology was so off.

It was so disheartening for me, to see the Sunday school Group just accept this teaching. While some of the points were only subtly off by a few degrees there was a few that were pretty blatant if you think about it critically.

Terrific video! I read Platt’s garbage book “Radical” about 15 years ago and knew his works-based salvation and pride in works would lead to some terrible places. I pray he repents of his lies and false doctrine before it is too late.
