ASVAB Mathematics Knowledge Part 2

Sample problem from the ASVAB mathematics knowledge section in the military placement exam. This section has to be done without calculators and is timed. I go over some tips and tricks on how to do well on standardized math exams and some of the secrets to doing well.

I like how instead of necessarily breaking down each individual mathematics operation, you simply show us how to achieve the answer,
which is what most of us are looking for anyway. Yes, we can sit here and follow through with each equation,
but with process of elimination, a little bit of common sense, and a few basic math skills - we can find the right answer.

I homeschool & I want to make sure my kids can pass the ASVAB if they decide the take it. I am teaching a study guide. The way you teach is exactly how I was taught in high school in the early 90s. I tried having a tutor at one point but after watching videos on YouTube I understand now that I learn better watching these videos, unless it was just that the tutor I had didn't explain things well and would get upset when I would ask questions or when the answer wasn't obvious to me

My biggest fear when preparing for the asvab was worrying that I wouldn’t even care to learn math again or that i couldnt remain engaged but these videos are great, I’m definitely engaged.
