My name is Jens Larsen, Danish Jazz Guitarist, and Educator. The videos on this channel will help you explore and enjoy Jazz. Some of it is how to play jazz guitar, but other videos are more on Music Theory like Jazz Chords or advice on how to practice and learn Jazz, on guitar or any other instrument.

The videos are mostly jazz guitar lessons, but also music theory, analysis of songs and videos on jazz guitars.

Great tip here, whenever you can take something like pentatonic scales, which pretty much every guitarist is comfortable with, and apply it to get a modern sound, that is a huge win. I think this is a great way to get over the hurdle of feeling like you need "new" material in order to get new sounds. Modern melodic and harmonic sounds tend to have an illusion of difficulty, but you showed here it doesn't have to be some special complex concept to sound modern.

Thank you, Jens! More excellent instruction! I found your channel a few weeks ago. I’ve been “playing” the guitar for about 40 years, but never seriously focused on jazz. Since finding your channel, I’ve returned to piano to learn theory as a foundation to eventually apply to the fretboard. Sooo much to learn, but keeping my aging brain stimulated. As a hobby, I create Native American Style flutes, all of which are tuned to the Pentatonic scale. Oh, and my wife is not happy with you since I’m hiding in the studio all day practicing! Lol Thanks again!

I love using pentatonics. There’s a world of possibilities as you know. Always dig how clearly you explain everything

Try to avoid 'licks' as much as possible.
