The R.I. measurement doesn't distinguish natural or synthetic amethyst, so it is not a test for "Real" amethyst.

You have to use a microscope or a loupe to separate from synthetic amethyst.

lol...excluding when it is synthetic, then all the physical test will show the same except you check for the inclusions with a microscope.
