Just wanted to reiterate that I believe that braces ARE better than invisalign if you were torn between the two. With that being said I would still choose invisalign because it was aesthetically better. It all comes down to how much work you need done on your teeth and how comfortable you feel! :) I hope this helps!

I've had both. Invisaligns are better. If you think the attachments scratch the crap out of your mouth, braces are worse. They're metal and they've actually gone through my cheek and I've had to get stiches in my mouth. It's harder to keep clean and because of the metal brackets around the molars that are cemented onto the teeth, they've developed cavities. You cannot floss properly and you have to avoid certain foods the entire time wearing them. At least with invisaligns you can eat what you want, just take them out. Plus more regular visits to the orthodontist for tightening which is probably not ideal for travelers. If you think it was bad pushing appointments back for invisaligns, way worse with metal braces. If you follow the instructions, you shouldn't have any problems . Simple as that

I had braces in my teens and Invisalign in my early 30’s for 6 months - as a result of not wearing my retainer after I got my braces out. Personally, Invisalign was 100x better for me and way more comfortable than braces. Also I think the process of Invisalign taking digital scans and using 3-D printing to create the trays, makes the process probably a bit more precise and efficient than the traditional braces. It’s also way easier to clean your teeth with Invisalign as opposed to with braces. The Invisalign treatment time of 6 months was way faster than braces, which I had in for 2 years. I made sure to wear Invisalign 22 hours a day and will continue to wear my retainer constantly to maintain the great results I got with Invisalign!

I did mine with Smile Direct. Probably the easiest thing ever. They sent me all aligners, did a payment plan. Pay around $85 mo for 24 mos. Simple. Teeth went from jacked up to movie star quality in 8mos. I got quoted for braces and it was $5500, mine was around $1800. If you follow the main rules: #1. wear 22 hrs a day. #2 Brush your teeth and aligners - Brush before bed, brush when you wake up brush after meals. Use a soft toothbrush for your aligners. #3 don't eat or drink with them. After the first two you get crafty on how you take them out to eat. Then just head to the bathroom rinse (brush if you can). You can drink soda, but I would recommend clearish...gingerale, sprite...etc...but brush as soon as you can. They will always hurt the first day or two for every new tray you put in...but it goes away. I had jacked up teeth...but it's movie star quality. I feel people who didn't stay religious like I did, are the ones that get refinement. Get braces if you cant follow directions.

I wear Invisalign also . Currently on tray 21 out of 30 . There was a point when my cross bite tooth did not fit into my tray completely and my Orthodentist actually had my teeth re-scanned for better fitting trays (video on channel) after that all my teeth fit perfectly .. I think that’s what ur Orthodentist should have done 🤔🧐

I have buttons on all my teeth. The first two weeks was the hardest to remove my Invisaligners. I drank smoothies instead of eating in those two weeks. I've been using trays for a year now. My buttons are still sharp, the front ones scrape my lips when my trays are out. Everyone is different for how long they wear the trays. I thought I was going to have 35trays to change weekly. But after I used those trays, they examined me again. I had to stay on my 35th tray for 6weeks (only wearing them for 8hrs per day). So they could order 33 more trays. I now have started those trays, and I wear elastic on one button at the back of my top tooth, that stretches down to the front of my lower tray. This elastic is to help correct my bite.

My Invisalign barely worked as well . I’m on my second time using them because I wasn’t happy with the result after finishing it for the first time. I had 13 trays the first time and 10 trays my second time. I’m planning to go in for a 3rd time because I’m still not completely happy with my results and might as well get my money’s worth. I would honestly recommend braces so much more because all my friends that have had braces have much better smiles than me

Well you should follow directions from the start !!! And making changes makes your treatment alot longer..

I had Invisalign since last year for even a smaller gap in my front teeth.
I had braces when I was young and with the years my teeth shifted leaving my smile uneven and with gap.
I chose Invisalign last year, it didn’t really closed the gap, my dentist cut gaps between some of my teeth to “allow” movement. Now, after one year I have more gaps than what I started.
I complained and I asked to get regular braces instead of my las refinement trays.
I’m still in the process and I hope I can get some results. Invisalign was a big disappointment.

I think it depends on your orthodontist because I have teeth that are crooked and they have moved a lot since I started. I’m on tray 14 of 26. I go in every 3 weeks to 4 weeks to get a check up. And mine only gives me enough trays for that time frame. I also started out wearing them for 2 weeks because my teeth hurt so bad. I just recently started wearing them for 1 week each set. But it also depends on how your mouth reacts to them. For me Invisalign was cheaper and more convenient than braces as it would all twice as long for braces for me. And with everyone saying they didn’t get a retainer, I believe they recommend one, at least mine did when we talked about it. Just like they would recommend with braces. Your teeth will move when you finish Invisalign or braces the first month or so until your mouth “heals” and your ligaments tighten back up.

if ur attachments are scratching ur mouth then you couldve asked the dentist to file them down..the problem with this is you have to be very disciplined and follow the directions to keep them in, invisalign 1000% works, so if it didnt work it was 9/10 1000% ur fault lol..just saying. metal braces are a NIGHTMARE you do not want trust me ..ive dealt with them and am now doing invisalign. braces are only best bet if you have no self control and know youll be tempted to take them out
