Also, salvation doesn't have an "or else." Do this or else, do that or else, we're saved from nothing to something. The Holy Spirit in us gives the desire to serve God more and to be closer to Him.

We became Christians by faith in Jesus, we stay Christians by faith in Jesus, and we grow as Christians by faith in Jesus.
Once saved Always saved ONLY if you stay believing in Jesus. You are saved by GRACE by the Blood of Jesus. You cannot leave Jesus and expect to stay saved.

What about the theif on the cross or those that repent on their dead bed? If you are truly born again, repented and trust Jesus Christ, you cannot lose your salvation. Your walk in the faith will determine your reward in Heaven (sanctification and good works).

Once you are saved, you're always saved, even if you sin. In fact, all you need to do is believe in Jesus by faith (Romans 10:9) and not even repent, and you'll be saved. The thief on the cross did not repent, he just said to Jesus "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom" and he was saved.
