@frostwow That's a great idea. I do in fact do something like that in Geometry class, but I could put some more such explanation in the Algebra classes as well. I'll add that to my list of things to do.

Was pondering this for a while and couldn't see where the postive factor a + b came from until i thought about it like - (b^2) and not a^2 (-b^2). The first expression allows you to take a positive a and b from each term to leave the a - b....Pretty obvious i know but took me a little while to see it.

It would ruin the introduction about how geometry isn't part of the line of algebra... but it that might make that geometry school year more meaningful for algebra fans, and other way around make algebra more visual for geometry people
