I have loved this song for many years! I grew up watching Lon Chaney jr. as the werewolf and liked the movie werewolf of London I hated it when Warren Zevon passed away, way too soon. It was shortly thereafter I heard this son and play it constantly, especially during Halloween. RIP my good man

Saw Zevon YEARS ago at Rosies in New Orleans with his full band. He was smashed on vodka and off the chain. He was so frigging good. I Loved this guy. Saw him again many years later at the Varsity Theater turned music venue outside the gates of LSU on Highland road. He was traveling around doing acoustic gigs in a small pick up truck with a camper on it. Several of us went around back to where he was parked after the show and chatted with him. He was humble and easy to talk with. What a great song writer and performer.

Used to sing this in the car with my German Shepherd, and at first he'd look at me strange with that signature Shepherd head tilt and concerned look. Eventually, he'd start howling along with me. RIP Jerry Lee (my German Shepherd) and RIP Warren Zevon.
