Trader Vic's is a tiki bar chain that's been running forever, with a branch in London. Lee Ho Fooks is a chinese restaurant in London's chinatown. Zevon died of cancer in the early 2000's. His final appearance on Letterman was really sad. Not often you get to hear a celebrity talk about their imminent death. Letterman was a big fan. Great song.

This is the story that was repeated by many DJ's on the radio when this song was getting heavy rotation. The lyrics are about the Bee Gees during the disco era. They were extremely popular and could be seen all over London. They all had long hair, but Barry Gibbs had the full beard and big teeth to go along with it. Warren jokingly called them "The Werewolves of London" because of their looks. All the locations listed were various places they were seen about town. "His hair was perfect." - FACT. "I'd like to meet his tailor." - They were quite fashionable. "He was walking with the queen." Actual event. (Now play the song again and picture the Bee Gees strutting around London as you listen to the lyrics.) At that time most people knew this background story of the origin. It made the song even more enjoyable.

You’d love Excitable Boy and Lawyers, Guns and Money. Warren Zevon is a bit eccentric but always fun.

One of the most talented musicians and songwriters but so under appreciated by the public. RIP Warren 💔

He's got a lot of great songs but for me it's his "Keep Me in Your Heart" that hits home. He wrote it after learning he was dying and it's his final song. It's also used in T.V. shows and movies as a break up song but knowing where he was at mentally while writing it makes it such a great song for me.

Lex nailed it- the dual personality werewolf. "His hair was perfect, I'd like to meet his tailor"; dude looks good but don't let him catch you alone late at night..

This has one of the best lines ever written : "Little old lady got mutilated late last night" The perfect alliteration that even if you just say or read it, it sings. It just sings.

And for those that don't know, Lon Chaney Jr. is the actor that played the werewolf in 1941's "The Wolf Man" Both he and his dad were both well-known for their performances in early horror movies.

In case no one else points this out, I will: when Z mentions Kent and Mayfair and says, "...he'll rip your lungs out, Jim" is a reference to Kent and Mayfair cigarettes in the UK. It was clever wordplay.

Favorite song of his, "Keep me in your heart". Written for his Daughter and Grandchild as he was dying from lung cancer.

"My Shit's Fucked Up" is a song he wrote at the end of his life coming to terms with years of self abuse. Amazing song.

Lon Chaney=famous actor during the silent film era known as the "Man of 1, 000 Faces" (due to the heavy character make-up worn in such films as "The Phantom of the Opera")
Lon Chaney, Jr=LC's son and actor, known for his role in 1941's "The Wolf Man"
Trader Vic's=tiki-themed bar and restaurant, the most notable of which was in Beverly Hills

Lee How Fooks was an actual restaurant in Chinatown just off Soho in London.

In this episode of Brad & Lex, Brad works up his signature "side to side sway" right off the bat as the infectious groove drops in as Lex listens and waits until the stand out chorus and becomes her 7 year old former self at the the sound of the and delivers jolly giggles as she gets into a "bobble head bop".

Trader Vic's is a restaurant and Tiki bar chain headquartered in Emeryville, California, United States. Victor Jules Bergeron, Jr. (December 10, 1902, San Francisco – October 11, 1984, Hillsborough, California) founded a chain of Polynesian-themed restaurants that bore his nickname, "Trader Vic". He was one of two people who claimed to have invented the Mai Tai.

Watching the movie at 2am is probably how he came up with it. One of Henry Hull's best. Great rhythm section -- Mick Fleetwood on drums & John McVie on bass. Waddy - guitar. Warren on piano & vocals.
