The three wheeler in the UK was taxed and licensed as a motorcycle which was a lot cheaper that a four wheeler. Hence the Reliant Robin, Bond Minicar etc.

#14 The 1955 BMW ISETTA:
In the late 1950's, early 1960's, I was in elementary school and the principal had one of those cars. One day when I was sick, he took me home in it. I'll NEVER forget
that car!!

The Red Two wheeler is actualy a Gyro car that held itself upright even when at a stop with powerful gyroscopes. It was a great idea but heavy.

Regarding your 'Sweet topic': Why is it 'taking a little test drive down the back roads of Italy' - with a Tennessee number plate?

These styles were way ahead of there time as a matter a fact they are more advanced and stylish than the box shape today. They should bring some of these styles BACK! 😎👍!

The Ford GT90 wasn't strange, it was a perfectly logical evolution of supercar design of the time. It just never lived up to its promise. The Maserati Birdcage 75 would have been a much better car to include.

We called the Reliant Robin the Plastic Pig, because it was made of fibreglass. The Isetta, the Bubble Car.

Instability with the Reliant Robin became a total non-issue if you fitted 20mm spacers on the rear wheels. Yep. 20mm on both sides was all it needed. I'm surprised Reliant didn't take notice of what so many owners were doing and make them standard fitment. The 850cc Robin was actually pretty quick off the mark for its day due to having an excellent power-to-weight ratio and low gearing. I used to love giving early VW Golf GTIs a run for their money at the traffic lights, although the drivers of said Golfs were generally none too happy if they were beaten by a vehicle they'd just been laughing at!

There may not be enough video footage. I was always intrigued by the Buckminister Fuller Dymaxion car. I think two were made. The surviving car was at the Stark Nevada Harrah's car museum. It was only an experimental car, and not finished out like your other cars.

Some cars come in really stupid configurations but that's okay . . . if they meet safety standards.

I took pictures with my first digital camera when I was in New York in the year 2000. The Chrysler Atlantic was there too, with exactly the same colors like the one here in the video.

Not including the AmphiCar 770, suggests that your pick was somewhat arbitrary.

The red 2 wheeler had a Tennessee tag, not Italy. The Ferrari Rainbow reminds me of the Fiat X-19. And Architects, as far as I know, design buildings, cars are designed by designers. I would not want to be in an accident in the BMW Visionary. A frame and fabric. A MOVING frame and fabric. No. The Norman Timbs Special is a work of art! The Mercedes Maybach Six would have been heavenly to drive with a butter smooth V-12 or even a V-16 purring along under that long, beautiful hood! A beautiful automobile! The Chrysler Atlantic was a beautiful car and would have been fantastic with the new Hemi under the hood. Plenty of go for a car of it's size. The Faraday is just insane.

The one car you use as your title image isn't even featured in this video....just a single still picture with no additional information. Clickbait is not an attribute to strive for.

12:26 as a proud reliant owner i can officially say that reliants don't roll easy in top gear jeremy clarkson messed with the differential to make it flip over every corner and he also added more upgrades to make it roll over easy. I have been driving my reliant robin mk2 for 5 years and I haven't rolled it over once. Also once you get used to driving a reliant it will start to become less strange like for example to me the reliant robin is part of my everyday life if I need to get food reliant robin if I need to get a hair cut I am going drive the reliant robin
