An uncle of mine had an Isetta back in the day. It was a cute little micro car that sounded like a asthmatic motorcycle.

Car and Driver magazine said the Amphicar was as bad a boat as it was a car. Btw, LBJ had one.

I loved my 1966 Blue w/white top Amphicar. My dad gave it to me for Christmas in 1965. I drove it from San Antonio, Texas to San Francisco. I could write a book on all the crazy things that happened along the way. Not cause of car problems, but coz of all the peeps wanting demonstrations at gas stations and the like. The cops would also radio ahead to their friends and they, in-turn, would pull me over for a demo.

While living in the bay area, everyday was an adventure as I drove it to work. Example: some drivers would pull up behind me at a stop light. Then as they realized something was different, you could see them in your rear view mirror saying, WTF? Seeing that, I immediately put the water gear on as I took off, . The propellers would be turning and those behind would be dying of laughter.

I went in fresh water lakes all the time. Never had to service it after I did so. Just did regular maintenance.

Once I had to tow a disabled boat (That had been harassing us) to shore on Lake Merritt in Oakland. What a riot😆

My girlfriend in high school, drove an Isetta to school. On the weekends, we go to drive-ins. Great, except as we sat in the car, we were constantly pranked. A group of friends would see us and lift the car up in the air, placing us on the side walk or some difficult place to get the car out of🤣

The roach coach was also a model back then, as well the pink panther mobile, there is one that looks like a indy car called the devilfish, the red baron was shaped like a german war helmet. There were several other interesting show only cars that had fun designs, almost like real life hotwheels.

The company TVR, (originally named after the British founder TreVoR Wilkinson), was a Blackpool based company in Lancashire England, when the Cerbera Speed 12 was built,

The abbreviation TVR stems from the name of the company's owner Trevor Wilkinson, his first garage sporting the letters T, V and R. The history of TVR can be divided into several eras, each of which is associated with the company's owner at the start of that period: 1946–1965, founder Trevor Wilkinson, who left in 1962.

The TVR Cerbera Speed 12, originally known as the Project 7/12, is a high performance sports car designed by TVR in 1997. Based on the TVR Cerbera, the vehicle was intended to be both the world's highest performance road car and the basis for a GT1 class endurance racer.

Some of the best-looking cars were made in the late 40's and 50's.
The Opel H looks great, so does the Mercedes. However, I'd take that XL Bug any day! It looks just gorgeous and I'm sure a V6 or even V8 is under the hood.

I would love the Aviator and the robot head car. I think if this was in every car, maybe road rage would not be as bad.

I recall a 'bubble car' driver, driving it up to a garage wall. Then forgot it didn't have a reverse 😀

Amphicar! A friend had one, and i got to watch (from inside it) startled or shocked stares as we drove down the beachfront and into a lake. They tended to rust (yes! a floating car) and were far more a novelty than practical.

I used to see someone with an amphicar driving on the road near a river when I was going to the doctor's office as a child. Once in a great while I'd see one actually in the river, tootling along with obviously happy people inside.

2:53 "For starters, the FV2 is able to change colours, depending on the mood of the driver. If you're struggling to think of any way _that_ could ever be useful..." - as a matter of fact, it *could* indeed be useful: it would warn other drivers to stay away from a car with an angry driver, possibly reducing road rage incidents/accidents.

What about the Sinclair C5? A small electric vehicle in the 80s thought to be weird, and failed commercially, but actually quite ahead of its time.
