The CEO of PG&E, Patricia Poppe, pledged to bury 10,000 miles of power lines underground in the coming years during a visit to Butte County on Wednesday.
"We will make it safe and we will bury the lines," CEO Patty Poppe announced during a press conference in Chico.
Poppe visited Chico to address concerns surrounding reports that PG&E equipment may have sparked the Dixie Fire, which continues to rage in both Butte and Plumas Counties. Documents filed by PG&E to the Public Utilities Commission earlier this week say their equipment potentially contributed to its start.
