Pacific Gas & Electric Company CEO Patti Poppe said Wednesday that the utility is kicking off a project to ultimately bury 10,000 miles of lines in California's highest-risk fire areas. Days after the utility announced that its equipment may have been involved in the start of the big Dixie Fire burning in the Sierra Nevada, Poppe appeared in Chico to announce what she called "one of the largest infrastructure projects in the history of our state." See more in the video above.

From 2019 to now they’re close to 65 miles. Another 8 years they’ll be close to done. “Every year it’s going to get cheaper, and it (power?) will get more affordable?” Wow, when did the PGE bills go down last? Never. Lies, BS, and propaganda for the infrastructure fees.

Don't believe one word these folks utter. The courts have found the company to be criminally negligent. Translated = on purpose !

The word "underground" is not a verb 0:41. After the San Bruno explosion and the Camp and Dixie fires PR geniuses at PG& E vowed to never use the word "bury" again. Let's just call it "undergrounding."

California should be taxed for all the pollution being put in the air from these fires...so if the dixie fire was started by pg&e they could foot the pollution tax bill for the fire.

Bet they could put solar panels and battery backups on every home for the same price

They where trying to do this 10 years ago, but they diverted the money to comply with the states new regulations.

Yeah yeah yeah
.. when the earth shifts and breaks the line, and it takes 50 times longer for repairs, everyone will cry about it some more. And take note, by the time that they are done burying all these lines, the population will have increased ten fold with power demand thru the roof. Do yourself a favor now and just stop.

Oh!! And in a state known for its frequent earthquakes!! That's going to be really smart!!

PG&E hires people who have no background in line work. There’s a reason these linemen go to school to learn this trade. Lower wages equal people who don’t know what they are doing. PG&E PARR are terrible outfits.
