Following last year's Dixie Fire, which was started by a tree falling on a PG&E power line and ended up burning nearly one-million acres, PG&E is undergoing the largest infrastructure project in California history by burying 10,000 miles of power lines.

PG&E has had 100 years to bury power lines. Instead, they let the maintenance on the current lines and equipment go straight to hell, and raked in the cash! Why are they not paying the bill for their ongoing wildfire damage to communities and individuals? Why haven’t they been pulled apart and given to better, responsible parties (aka “Ma” Bell)??

They act like burying the lines now is some sort of futuristic, genius idea on their part. Bring them down!!

Megan, the word "underground" is not a verb. 1:56 If you want to situate a power line underground then you want to bury the power line, not underground it. Given the number of people that PG&E has buried because of their gas explosions and wildfires during recent years I can understand that they may not wish to use the word "bury" again, but "undergrounding? " Really?

PG&E CEO Patti Poppe said 0:55, "That tree that fell on our lines is one of eight million trees that are in strike distance to our lines. This is an extraordinary problem." Yes, indeed PG&E. Who could have guessed that trees will grow and move closer to nearby power lines?

It’s a shame their isn’t an easier way of burying power lines. Just imagine how much it would help fires and other natural disasters.

About time ! I am tired of the damn power outages but understand the fire danger (been on evacuation orders in community that was badly affected)) Not because of lack of air conditioning, that I know how to cope with but...losing food ! Years ago when working, I would have bought a solar generator but now...no extra money. Hope the underground is done quickly.
