Life On The Water In A Tiny House Boat

Combining the alluring freedom of both tiny house living and life on the water, this tiny floating house boat is an incredible alternative living solution.

Designed by Ian Ugarte in collaboration with architect Drew Heath, this tiny house boat, named the Arkiboat, was designed to be strong and lightweight, designed for a life at sea with open views to the surrounding environment, all with an architectural edge.

This small home is designed to be a fully functioning boat. It can travel at a decent speed and is comfortable for full time live-aboard life. It can be moored either on a swing mooring, or at a marina and is completely self contained with all the normal holding tanks. It's also completely off-the-grid, generating it's power from a solar system on the roof and capitalising on Australia's high sunshine hours.

Bryce you are so good at interviewing people. No awkwardness and everyone always looks comfortable talking with you.
You have done so much for the tiny house community.

I love how cheerily he shares that he was inspired by Japanese brothels.

GREAT job AGAIN Bryce!! Many years ago when I was a young man, my parents (rest their souls) owned a relatively small house boat and man I had so many good times on that baby. I loved being on it - slow powering through the rivers and just sitting someplace and enjoying & taking in the views. So many fond memories. Thanks again Bryce - take care my friend. ;)

Decided to take a last minute trip in Jan to catch up with a friend. I was standing no more than 5 meters away setting up the jet skiis when I saw this house boat. It was instant love and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I can't believe I'm seeing this. It's a going to sell my Sydney home, buy myself one of these, live a stress free life!

Seattle has an entire neighborhood of floating homes! It's really cool. They're on fresh water though, so not as much salt water corrosion, but the salt water is still close by. I've dreamed of living in one ever since watching Sleepless in Seattle.

I love this houseboat design, and the way it looks lit up at night is magical. It's also magical how the folks in the marina have skills to walk and ride bikes backwards 13:25! Thanks for another great video Bryce.

I love what he said about family function - more arguments but also more smiling and better dynamics - with a smaller space :)

11:16 - Sales Pitch! Price is generally $220K-$230K upwards.

PLUS: (lots of mess about trying to live cheaper)
Berthing prices are quotes as $200-$300 per week. That's $1200 per month to rent a hole to put your tiny home in.

I love the idea, this is just absurd!

Love the design but wonder if sliding flywire screens could also be added. Mosquitoes and flies would make life very uncomfortable, not to mention spiders and snakes dropping by if you were moored near the bush on a river somewhere. Thanks for this Bryce. Love your channel.

I have a new obsession with houseboats and was wondering how to choose between living in a tiny house or a houseboat. Problem solved. This houseboat is amazing.

I am jealous. I want this house because it is floating. So romantic...The master bedroom was too open. Better half open and not facing the land when sleeping. I like privacy.. Thank you Bryce & Rasa for sharing the video.

I totally agree with the upper deck. It's either too hot or too cold and it can get really windy. The lower deck is more than sufficient plus you're close to the water and you can close up those windows if you want to. Interesting concept!

Beautiful bedroom views of the parking lot, busy street and a gas station, just heavenly.

Eh, for weekends maybe, but as far as privacy and security go, this is nothing for me, especially if moored at a pier next to a parking lot....

This is one of the most enviable tiny house lifestyles I've seen thus far! Looks great!

This man and his builder's combined intelligence is just out of this world
That master bedroom is to die for
And the clever use of space of a triple bunk.. Genius
