love how consistent you’ve been lately!! it’s so hard to stay motivated for youtube esp when you’re balancing other responsibilities so i’m proud of you for how many videos you’ve made this month (which are high-quality as per usual!!) 🙏🙏

They try to re-capture the mood of the first film; and I think do a pretty good job. I'm such a Dune fan; ever since I've read the first book that I will watch the entire season with open mind :) I even recently created my first ever ASMR using relaxing CyberPunk / Nostalgic Space Journey music with footage from Dune and Blade Runner. Would really like love some feedback from the sci fi fans if I'm on the right track.

This show is just tons of characters backstabbing each other, and having their own plans to take over the throne, lol. Desmond is a very interesting character!

The Sisterhood is currently on Wallach IX. "The Agony" here is induced by a poison from Rossak. Rossak is the planet with the original sorceresses. Due to the planet's properties they had true telekinetic powers like Desmond's. However, in the lore, only Sisters from Rossak ever developed such abilities. Raquella was poisoned by the Supreme Sorceress Ticia Cenva, making her the first person to ever access "Other Memory".

Oh and GRRM actually took inspiration from Dune for GOT. Saying Dune is inspired by GOT is like saying, Lord of the Rings was inspired by D&D.

I liked it, but I really hated the resistance to the voice. It just felt like that reveal came too early or we didn't get enough time to _know_ what a feat it was to resist the voice. But, with just six episodes I guess I best just sit up and be ready for more stuff to happen that's gonna ruffle my feathers! I do like the pace of the show and I'm hoping that it'll continue to shake things up. So far I really Iike Inez and Desmond _"I'm clearly a villain"_ Hart, every time that guy is on screen I just get a little chuckle in my belly. He just cracks me up with all his little micro twitches. lol

I found this episode more engagaing than the first. Still i feel this show could be a lot more than it currently is. Largest flaw for me is the lack of emotionally engaging characters.

Nobody is even close to the same level of intrigue and attachment as Paul, Jessica, or Stilgar from the movies.

my theory. Desmond and one spy at the BG HQ are much like the BG with "the voice" but his and her "voice" is the ability to push spontaneous combustion instead of involuntary mind control. and obviously the ability to resist Valya's voice. I don't think he killed the Rev Mother Kasha across space and he never admitted to it he just said he saw her corruption and decided she needed to go. I think another like him did but they want everyone to think he can do it across great distances remotely because that is a huge threat to leverage.

I know it's a prequel but do you think this show will affect anything that we see in Dune: Messiah? Maybe the realisation of some of this technology (or the use of a split diopter) could inspire Denis who knows

I think they nailed the intro, but I saw that a lot of people didn't like it. In my opinion, it was great both visually and music-wise.

Apparently, "Desmond Hart" is "Caleb/Marcus" from Raised by Wolves. 😅

If you've read the entire series, including all of Brian Herbert's books (spoiler warning!).... maybe Desmond Hart is a machine creation? Could he even be "Marty" or "Daniel" in a different embodiment? That was my first thought when his powers were revealed and they hadn't even mentioned the Tleilaxu.

Great to hear you are in for all the mystical & psychedellic themes. But then you say you don't really like all th epolitical games & maneuvering (what many call 'Game of Thrones' stuff). But Frank Herbert's Dune universe is all about both of these! You can't have a Dune show, especially a prequel like ths one, without a lot of political intrigue.

If they dont ramp up the sex and violence this show is getting cancelled. It only a small percentage of us that care about story and dialogue.

I agree that I want more classic Dune stuff more than the generic sci fi (like space cocaine), but I disagree that the "Game of Thrones politics" have no place here. Dune is quite lierally the OG story of "plans within plans" with backstabbing and families attacking families. I think that is what makes Dune so intriguing and I would wager was a major inspiration for GOT (and other stories). I'm with you on loving the Agony scene the most, but the politicking scenes with the emperor's family (even the sex scene where she gets information out of him) are critical to the overall story imo.

Dude the sex scene is a honey pot spy thing. How else do you expect the guy to tell the secret?

You do a nice job with reviews but you need to review better quality content. Dune Prophecy is a good choice. Consider adding to your docket: Slow Horses, The Old Man, and Andor.

I love the first 3 Dune books & the Denis movies but unfortunately this series isn’t doing it for me so far. Maybe it’s the source material or lack of interesting characters, but I’m having trouble caring about this show 🫤
