I gave away my Tangela because I couldn’t evolve it, it was level 100, but I didn’t know Rare Candy works on them.

This has been a thing for a while. I found out through a video back in February. Thats why i give any level 100 Pokémon a rare candy if it can still evolve when surprise trading.

Someone traded me a Magikarp at level 100 when Scarlet Violet dropped and I'm like let's try a rare candy for no reason and it worked it evolved

what's funny is that I needed this trick coz I accidentally leveled a stage 1 pokemon to lvl 100 and while it did evolved into stage 2, I couldn't use anymore exp stuff to further evolve it. I just reloaded the save and did it properly lol

This does not work with pokemon that evolve with level up + friendship sadly I candied my riolu with the wrong amount of candies and it got to 100 and it had.max friendship I accidentally hit B on my controller I gave it a rare candy and it says it will have no effect

What do you mean by the evolution stone thing? Like arent you always able to evolve a pokemon if its a stone evo?
