This is horrible....and I find it disheartening how many people say they don't feel bad for those affected. I get that they had evactuation warning, but put yourself in their shoes. No one wants to believe how bad it actually ended up being. especially the places farther inland that got hit hard.

they can predict weather, they can predict estimated rainfall totals, but NOBODY thinks to use that info overlaid on a topography map and then use computers to generate possible flooding scenarios and tell folks in the potentially affected territory to get out while you can, cause the computer models show that your home is going to flood.

Western South Carolina got hit hard also. News forget that. Our damage is not as dramatic where I live but Spartanburg and westward hit hard. Plus the water is coming down from the mountains of NC is causing water to rise dangerously Broad River, Catawba River, Lake Norman and Lake Wylie in our town.

i blame the FL PD. Speed limits 35-65mph depending on the road. Helene blew through there at 140mph! Did they stop her? Arrest her? NO!

Sending prayers to everyone. As a native of Tn I would like to make yall aware of the dangers of more flash flooding and landslides and it continues to rain. If it does rain the entire weekend it will be a total devastation to low lying areas but especially to those in basins. It's a lot of small towns in this state with only 1 main way in and out so I am definitely worried about them. Be safe everyone cuz sadly it will get worse before eventually ending this cycle.

The sinkholes next to the streams is from the water eroding the soil away.
