I think that he dropped the spoon when he winked. This is common when you're not paying attention. He dropped down to the floor to pick it up. The sound of the spoon made the other guy look back. At the exact moment, the truck came and Peter didn't see him. Peter turned around, and Harry got back to his chair to continue enjoying his coffee and pie.
